We did this room by accident. We came to Montreal specifically to do escape rooms and have 9 other rooms planned....well, silly me, I thought I booked Project RESET and didn't. But I didn't realize it until 1 hour before the start time..... with such short notice, this room was the only room available that fit our time slot. Well, it was a happy mistake because we really enjoyed this room, especially the 2nd part. It is unlike anything we have seen before. And it had one of our favorite puzzles of any of the 9 rooms we did, including some of the top rooms in the world. I would definitely recommend this as a fun little room if you like puzzles.

The first half of the room is beautiful and fun, I personally did not like the second part but it was still a challenging and fun room, just wish the second part kept the same style as the first half.

What a fun and unique room! I am always leery about doing a room that is done in darkness, but I needn't have worried. Escaparium did it again! The first chamber of the room is fully lit and decorated to the hilt! I loved the look and feel of the mine shaft. It combined the realism of the rocks and equipment with the comically cartoonish gemstones that littered the space. The second chamber was completely dark so I can only say the set felt very satisfying. The tech was a high point of the room for me. You are racing against another mining family attempting to beat you to the prize so every time you solve a puzzle you are treated to some banter between the three competitors which was a fun addition. The puzzles were well incorporated into the room and had a neat sound puzzle that I really enjoyed. The highlight for me were the puzzles in the dark section. I loved that they incorporated touch and sound puzzles in a way that were both challenging to complete but so satisfying when completed. A great way to start your Saturday morning adventures!

This was a fun game, though it felt a little short compared to other games at Escaparium. There is very immersive and beautiful decor, and puzzles we had not done before elsewhere.

We did this with 6 and we were all over one another for one specific puzzle. I think 4 may be a good sweet spot here as it may have been a little tough, time wise, for 2.

We are surprised by the less than positive reviews on this one. This is more of a traditional escape room with great puzzles, but it is a dark room, I guess isn't for everyone. This was the second dark room for two of us and first for the other two in our group and we enjoyed the challenge. The GM did not break game play and the puzzles explained themselves which we loved. There was one issue with a puzzle piece not being the appropriate size for the puzzle logic, but it was easy to figure out taking into account. Not the immersive theatre type of the newer rooms but we love puzzles and this room is solid for using your non visual senses. Minor: in the first room there was one puzzle that had slightly incorrect game pieces/clues that would have made it impossible for inexperienced players without brute forcing. We loved the second room and exploring to solve on our own. The GM noted some elements of the second room have changed over the years to improve gameplay. I guess we like dark rooms - and audio cues, but it is definitely a challenge. Puzzles 🧩: 8.5/10 Set/Wow Factor ✨: 7/10 Story/Immersion 🔮: 8/10 Fun factor 🤘: 8.5/10

Dark rooms are challenging for us and we enjoyed this game. The initial set was a lot of fun and we enjoyed the puzzles and story. Once we entered the darkness of the mine, our progress slowed down. I found one of the puzzles in particular very frustrating although that's a reflection on the player not the game.

Our group of 4 had the great fortune to complete 30 games in Canada in under a week. Eleven of the games were from Escaparium. Three of the games were from Ezkapaz. Jonathan Driscoll, the co-owner of Escaparium and Ezkapaz, welcomed us warmly. During our stay in the area, I noticed how his staff was full of joy and passion for their craft, and how much he beamed when he spoke of his team. I feel that one of the reasons his company is truly outstanding is due to how much he respects his employees. I consider him warm, genuine, sincere, and focused on personal growth. I am impressed by him, his staff, and the masterpieces they have built together. Some aspects I most enjoyed from each of the rooms include the following: Magnifico (+ music, story, acting, set design, costumes, character development) Wardrobe for Sale (+ story, theme, character development, acting, set design, creativity) Final Stop (+ improv chemistry with our group, story) Wizard of 4 and the Book of the Black Arts (+ acting, theme) Forgotten Cathedral (+ set design, acting) Lost Island of the Voodoo Queen (+set design, puzzles) Opus Memori (+ voice actor. They pleasantly surprised us once briefly between our back-to-back games. <3) Blind Tiger (+ actor suavely providing hints) Return to the Cadavera Case (+ murder mystery experience) Golden Jubilee (+ meditative [My bf is laughing at my diction :Pl) Barber's Choice (+ comfy) Wizard of 4 and the Rise of Thulsa (+ surprising finale) Bernie Block (+ cute) The Family (+ puzzles, set design)

Enjoyed this one overall! The puzzles felt fresh and unique in the first half of the experience. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Rooms are a bit small and does require crawling so keep that in mind. Finale was a bit of a letdown and the host had the radio when we were done certain puzzles and could move onto another. Having a more clear in-game way to indicate you were done would help make the second half feel more immersive.
