Permanently Closed - A new neighbor moved into the abandoned house down the street. Rumor has it he works at the creepy carnival at the end of town. No one has met him yet, but people are saying there are strange sounds coming from deep inside the house. Maybe the sounds have something to do with all the pets that have gone missing ever since he moved in. It’s not a coincidence and you sense something bad is happening. Unfortunately, your pet is now one of those missing and you’re fearing the worst. You’re not quite sure what you’ll find, but you and your friends decide to go check out his house while he is at work. It may lead to nothing or it may lead you to saving your pet.

Deceptive Games really set the bar high with the scare factor without truly being Scary. It was more of the psychological Scare of the clown that made us work faster, harder, and stay on our toes. There is a live actor, so beware! If you’re scared of clowns, you should not play this room! Hence “Return to Coulrophobia.” The game play was very cohesive and easy to follow. We never had to guess what to do next, it was more of where to find the items to complete the puzzles and unlock the boxes. Because of the psychological scare, it made solving the puzzles more intense Puzzles were very creative, methodical, and unique as they were so well themed and blended in that we didn’t even notice that the puzzles were Puzzles! There were so many twists and turns, and we were sweating by the end of the room. Between the live actor, the psychological scare factor, and some physicality that is needed for the set design, we had a GREAT time and would absolutely recommend this escape room! So sad that “Return to Coulrophobia” is closed now, but truly such a fun and interactive experience! This will definitely be one of the best stories that I will tell to others!
Everything flowed really well! It was a cohesive storyline, the puzzles were creative, and we had a lot of fun!
I was blown away by the set design, special effects, props, and puzzles! This escape room was very immersive and the music and lighting just added to it!
Our GM was amazing! Added to the immersiveness of the storyline and fear factor of Coulrophobia!

Coulrophobia is the extreme or irrational fear of clowns. I didn’t have it before this room, but I do now. Still, it was the most fun I've had in a horror room. The best puzzle unlocked the creepy cabinet. Watch out for your limbs while solving it. We found and freed all the pets but got terrorized along the way. Trigger warning: clowns, roaches, and a frightfully good time. (Begrudgingly) I’ll admit that Joseph was a good game master even though he scared me mess out of me during the game.

This was a lot of fun! Lots of WTF moments! Some stressful and some funny puzzles. Plenty of laughs and jumps along the way. It's so true how the easiest of puzzles can become harder with a scare factor. Technically, our team did not escape but our GM was kind enough to let us complete everything and we had a great talk afterwards regarding the puzzles and the hilarious things we were doing (or not doing). Was an awesome experience nonetheless. I'm really sad to hear this place is closing it's doors. (Damn landlord!) If you have been wanting to do the rooms here at DG, don't wait and book now! This one and the Butcher are must dos. Hoping to do Seven before they go.

As a certified scaredy cat, this room was scary to me but not torturous and the puzzles and challenges were innovative and fun enough to be worth my constantly feeling on edge. 😝 The live actor was great, and yes, was definitely gunning for me after I disclosed how scarededed I get. Exactly what I love about escape rooms, hee hee.

Some fun puzzles, others were OK. Simple use of a live actor. Has a scary theme, but not super scary by any stretch.

Game was fun and so many puzzles. Game master was nice and scared us a lot 😑 … game flowed nicely. Puzzles were definitely harder than I have seen and at the same time some were very obscure. Would love to come back when they open new hard rooms.

Great room. Puzzles are all fantastic, somewhat challenging, and well integrated into the story. There is a live actor with some involvement in the story. Scares are mostly jump scare-ish. As a non jumpy person, didn't particularly affect me much, but may get those that are. Does add a bit to the pressure, but not much, you won't have someone actively chasing you for example.

The room was a lot of fun! I think it balances puzzle amounts really well, insofar as having enough to feel like you get your money’s worth and still being able to escape. The puzzles in here were both fun and on theme, which is a major plus. My group enjoyed clowning around!

The room was a lot of fun. The puzzles were tricky, but well thought out. The acting was great! And our game master, Fox, was amazing!
