A daring escape beneath the sea awaits you and a partner in The Abyss Escape Room in Koreatown, LA, a cinematic escape room game designed uniquely for two players of any level of experience. Teamwork is key in this medium-difficulty puzzle game room, as players must work together to overcome the deceptively simple challenges found on board a submarine bound for an underwater prison complex. But be careful! Just when things seem to start going your way, you might find yourself contending with an especially unwelcome visitor! Your time on the run has come to an end. You and your partner have been convicted of high crimes against the state, and as punishment you will be locked away for life! You are slated to serve out your sentence in Coldwater Prison, a notoriously sinister prison complex from which nobody has ever escaped. For good reason, too – Coldwater Prison lies at the very bottom of the ocean! Your journey to Coldwater runs through a small submarine attached to a giant chain that runs from the surface of the water to Coldwater Prison. Once inside, it will only be 60 minutes before you find yourself locked away at the bottom of the ocean. And even if you can both find a way to break out of your constraints, the deepest parts of the ocean are home to all sorts of unknown creatures. If only that hacker friend you did that favor for hadn’t gone silent the minute you found yourself behind bars. What will happen at the end of your adventure? Will you earn your freedom, or will remain trapped in The Abyss Escape Room? Located in the heart of Koreatown, Maze Rooms on S. Really fun little date night room! I was skeptical of such a small room, but my husband and I had a great time!

Great 2 person room!! Tight quarters, So not friendly for people who don’t like somewhat tight spaces. Great room for date night. Cool effects and puzzles. When I did it, they gave you a costume too. Fun time!

Very small two player room. Kind of a cool concept and unique use of tech but disappointingly little puzzle-solving involved. More a collection of tasks, going through the motions and sticking things in holes to see what happens.

I was very excited about the concept of a 2 person escape room but was left very disappointed. My teammate enjoyed it and I have friends that liked it as well but for me the puzzles didn’t flow well, seemed like I didn’t really get what was going on and just kept trying things till something worked

Mixed feelings about the overall experience. The room, with the small space had lots for us to accomplish and lots of neat tech. There was a point where if the puzzle isn’t solved in a timely manner, motion sickness can come into play. Now the room gets a thumbs up but the service is what made me ultimately choose a thumbs down. We asked for a hint at one point but the clue given was something we already solved or had in our hands, so not giving us the full attention there. And when we finished, we stood there for a good 15 minutes without a GM to congratulate us or anything, pretty sure they forgot about us. This would have been forgiven if they were busy, but pretty sure we were the only ones there. And from experience, the GM does make or break your game. So don’t go for the service, but if you feel the need to escape the abyss, by all means try it out.

Great use of a small space, but do not play if you get easily motion sick.

This room is kinda fun, they did what they could using a very small space.

Cool concept and they did the best they could. The room kind of wore as you progressed through the puzzles though, which limited enjoyment.

We enjoyed our experience here. Some good use of props and tools. Small room with more tech based puzzles than physical ones.
“The technology employed in this small space was just super duper impressive.“
