Montauk Project

I’ve played a few stranger things themed rooms, but none of them blended the quality of gameplay and story on display in Montauk Project. It played well, too - the flow was traditional but every puzzle was clever and tactile. When tasks were contributing to our quest, however, they were especially engaging, coupled with a finale that was a true wow moment. If you’re in the area, stop by and play Montauk Project - especially if you’re a stranger things fan. Nothing else is quite as good at capturing the feeling of the show.

I thought this room was excellent. Fantastic set design, some really unique puzzles, and being a Stranger Things fan makes it even better. Our team had a great time! This was my last room with MyssTic and it became an instant classic! There were, however, a couple setup errors in the first room that then resulted in us waiting to use a key all game for something that should have been locked in the beginning, and for our guide to come on over the mic to explain that something should have been closed, etc. Fortunately that was only in the first room so I was able to get immersed again, but this has happened at least once with all of the games I played at MyssTic and considering how EXPENSIVE their rooms are, you would hope that sort of thing wouldn’t happen. That said- all of their room’s designs are so so commendable. I’m gonna miss playing with them!

Special Agent Rori was a great GM. Fun room, great puzzles, nice set.

The ambiance was so good! If you like Stranger Things, this is a must do room!

Some spectacular clues in this one

stellar. i’m v biased bc i love Stranger Things, but i think this is Mysstic’s best room, and it’s a Top 5 for me all time, currently Top 2, & i’ll save my next Superboost for it unless it gets beat within the month. we got one unsolicited instruction for the final button when we had a ton of time to spare, so that was mildly annoying, but they always mean well, and it didn’t detract. we only had 2 of us (and it was my sister’s first room EVER), but we BLEW thru Phase 1, got roadblocked in Phase 2 by one technical confusion, & Phase 3 had some really cool puzzles i’ve never seen before. all in all, an easy two-person escape clean 👍

MyssTic is one of my favorite escape room creators and they did not disappoint with this one! The puzzles are fun and varied, the lighting presented the right ambiance and still allowed us to see everything easily, and it was a lot of fun for our group which had varied levels of experience. The game master was incredibly attentive and though we didn’t end up needing any clues, when we were chatting with her afterwards it was clear she was closely watching our process and ready to jump in with hints. Highly recommend, very fun and satisfying room!

There were three full rooms of adventure with a few very unique reveals especially for fans of stranger things. The difficulty of the rooms definitely increases without background knowledge but the overall reward for a successful puzzle was rewarding enough for complete enjoyment. Would highly recommend.

Wow we did 90 rooms but this one I will say special the theming and the flow it’s perfect really recommender it’s just so much joy.

Fun room inspired off of the stranger things franchise. Probably the best room of that particular kind in the north east USA. Fans of the hit tv show will love this room. Puzzles were all solid, no logical leaps. Great story telling and production within the experience. Our group finished the room with no direct hints (one little nudge) in about 49 mins. Wasn’t too difficult for a group of 5. Would be a good challenge for a group of 2. Of all the rooms at Mysstic rooms this would be my 2nd favorite, my favorite being, “The Bird”.
