Absolutely fantastic. The set was by far the most elaborate that we have ever played. Good puzzles that were both original and challenging. Recommend fully, this is hands down the best escape room experience we have had to do (in 50+ rooms). We are going to have to travel back to do the rest!
For our second round with 13th this one is a hard sell for me in terms of gameplay. The set and the atmosphere that you are put into is amazing from beginning to end and the puzzles were novel. Although my hardest thing to wrap my head around is flow. For a game of its size we had a hard time getting from place to place with ease. In the end we made our way through but it felt more of a choppy experience rather than one that was scary fun and smooth.
Though as stated the puzzles were awesome and the set was something else that gave a Disney level of quality and attention, especially with the reveals it makes throughout. We had a great time laughing at eachother when one refused to something or turned around with a “NOPE” face. Definitely one to give a shot if you really wanna feel on the edge :)
Loved the theming and set design, the jump scares were okay. Most of the puzzles were really cool and novel but a few were more tedious. Room is great overall, but not my favorite horror escape room. Biggest complaint would be the lack of enthusiasm and rushed feeling from the game-masters.
If you took away all the impressive set design at 13th gate and focused solely on puzzle flow, I think this room would be my favorite - and it still has a pretty damn good set design.
I loved how this room played out, the set was phenomenal, and the lighting and sound design really worked for me. Absolutely worth doing if you're at 13th Gate.
100% an AMAZING experience! Slightly experienced players will do well. This game had my heart pounding the whole time and was perfectly thought out from beginning to end. 10/10 an outstanding escape! This may top my list at this point.
Great theming for this room. Very large setting and it was very well done with some great sound effects and vfx. This definitely stepped up the immersion. Fun intro and definitely got your blood pumping. Some puzzles were very fun and well themed. We had to break out and rescue a girl out of the asylum. It is supposed to be a horror room and it did not have the overall scary vibe we were expecting based on the hype.
There were a few clues that required a bit more lighting and involved colors and that stopped us up for a few minutes.
Some issues with communication with GM. Could be because they switched halfway through the room. Not sure if that is something that is usually done. Timer started before our audio finished so we lost a few minutes there. We did finish all the puzzles however there was a lot going on with this room that left a sour taste for on the experience. Still a nice room!!
