132 escape rooms
I walked out of The Man From Beyond genuinely in awe. I didn’t know an escape room could make me feel that much. This is a perfect blend of immersive theater and escape-room experience. You’re not trying to “escape.” You’re involved in discovering and helping solve a rich, emotional story. By the end, I felt personally invested, not only in the mystery but in Madame Daphne herself. The live performance element is absolutely essential and surprisingly real. It never feels like an actor was added on top of an escape room. It feels completely integrated into the world, the story, and the gameplay. The puzzles are satisfying, highly unique, logical, and challenging without feeling unfair. More importantly, they are completely diegetic and germane to the room, which is exactly what makes the whole experience feel so immersive. The production design is on par with a high-level theatrical set design. It made it feel like I was genuinely in a séance room. The lighting design and special effects are top tier, and there is one significant story moment that takes a wild turn and throws you fully into the experience in the best possible way. I would absolutely recommend this to immersive experience seekers, haunters, escape-room enthusiasts, theatre lovers, and even casual players looking for something unforgettable. The only caveat is that some moments may be too intense for younger players under 12. It absolutely lives up to its reputation. This is easily one of my top three immersive experiences ever. 13/10.
