The world class, one-of-a-kind, escape room artist saw something in you! He saw talent and skill great enough to invite you to join his academy. But before joining Houdini's Academy, he wants to see your work on display in the flesh. Demonstrate that you can get out of the trickiest of situations, and that you can speak the language of a true escape artist. There's a bright future ahead for you and a lucky few if you can just show him what you've got!

World class game! My second fav!

Note: My boyfriend and I personally thought that this room was SPOOKY because of how dark it is and because of certain audio noises. As somebody who gets scared pretty easily, I got spooked somewhat often and don’t consider this a “not scary” escape room. Other than that, I absolutely LOVED this escape room! The Houdini theme was definitely on POINT with the props and puzzles in this escape room. It’s a somewhat challenging room for two people, but luckily we were able to escape with 1 hint (we’re very stubborn with accepting hints & try not to unless we absolutely need it 🤭) and 9 minutes to spare! All of the puzzles flowed pretty well and it was a lot of fun! I highly recommend trying this escape room out!
Gameplay flowed well and there were so many unique, interactive parts of this escape room!

I am very torn about how to rate this room. On the one hand, the start was very unique and made me very excited to experience this room! But on the other, we had a really poor experience with the rest of the room. Partway through, we were able to open a door that was supposed to be locked simply by pulling the handle. This allowed us access to parts of the room that we weren’t supposed to have yet, which ended up allowing us to solve puzzles correctly, but not have the solutions activated because we were going out of order. After about 10 minutes of doing stuff we weren’t supposed to be able to and feeling stuck, our GM finally noticed what was going on. Their solution was to just tell us how to do 2 of the puzzles we had missed (which is the absolute worst way to handle that—let us do the puzzles we paid for!!) Several puzzles in this room did not work initially even though we were doing the correct thing. Several of the audio clips got skipped, so we were not able to follow the story very well, which was disappointing. In the end, when we escaped, the person who met us at the exit told us they were not our GM, so when we were trying to complain about all the problems, she had no idea what we were talking about, which was also frustrating. I would absolutely give this room a 👎🏼 based on our experience. The only reason I am not is because they did give me a refund when I expressed how disappointed I was with all the issues. It’s a shame because our friends all have loved this room when they did it, so I do believe if it was all working properly, it could have been great. I am very disappointed that I will never get to have that great experience of this room. I believe the issues with this room ultimately stem from the 60 Out business model. We did 3 escape rooms at 3 different 60Out locations today and noticed at all 3 locations that the GMs were stretched WAY too thin, causing no one to be around when we entered the business, seeing GMs have to run multiple rooms at a time as well as give room orientations to new groups at the same time, etc. Their attention was not fully devoted to our group (unlike how it normally is at your typical escape room) and if you ever asked for help, they would just tell you the answer instead of giving you nudges and clues. The GMs don’t seem to be escape room enthusiasts, they are just right to run as many rooms as they can to survive an overbooked night at their job. Pretty sad.
It started off great and had a lot of cool and unique puzzles. Would have been great if several of them weren’t broken for us.
The GMs were nice and friendly, but they were stretched way too thin, running multiple rooms at the same time, so they were unable to provide us with a good experience. See my review summary for more details.
Yes
A great theme and one of the most unique starts to an escape room I have seen so far.
It’s hard for me to judge because several of our story audio clips did not play and we ended up missing parts of the story because of it. So that was a pretty poor experience for us, but I’m willing to bet the normal story is great.

5 people would be great for the opening puzzle, but after that I think there weren’t enough puzzles to support 5 people. It was too light for just 2 of us and we still got out with about 15 minutes to spare.
Not scary
There is one part that could be scary for one person, but it is obvious when you are choosing the person, so you could pick the braver person in the group.

Something happened when we did the room that triggered us to have access to an area we shouldn’t have, and therefore bypassed a couple of our puzzles. Later when a GM finally realized we had skipped some stuff and had access to stuff we shouldn’t have, they just told us how to do 2 of the puzzles we had missed (which is the absolute worst way to handle that—let us do the puzzles we paid for!!) Another one of the puzzles seemed worn out from a lot of use.

There is some crawling required, although not everyone has to do it.
Someone with mobility issues wouldn’t be able to do the crawling portion and might have difficulty walking up and down an unstable ramp into one of the rooms. There are also some small stairs that could be difficult for someone with mobility difficulty.
No
It was not obvious that the building was the correct one. I saw no “60Out” sign on the outside and had to just trust the map pin.
Limited
There is a tiny parking lot in front that says employees only and then street parking out front that was pretty crowded.

Always a great experience with my escaper family 🫶

More of an "experience room." We solved most of the "puzzles" unintentionally by just playing around with the props, which felt very unsatisfying. All 4 of us left the room thinking, "that was it???"
The GM didn't even set up the room until we arrived, and 5 minutes into the game they re-entered saying something came loose in the other room and needed fixing.

Do not recommend. So many puzzles and doors were broken, and the GM had to interrupt multiple times to let us know that something was supposed to happen. They even had up step outside to recalibrate everything. The set and technology is old and underwhelming. There are no logic puzzles, and it was very very easy. I think we could have finished in 15 minutes if everything was working. Was so surprised because so many reviews were positive here.
