Starship: Final Voyage

All I have to say is it was an amazing experience for me and my group and my message to anyone trying this out good luck and save the ship 🚀🔥😁

Rating: 4/5 - Fantastic sci-fi set, tons of tech, but some of the puzzles were tedious Pros: ➕The set looked awesome and was highly immersive, decorated floor to ceiling with tons of details. It's clearly a labor of love, one of the best sci-fi ship sets I've seen. The hallway leading up to the room has more effort put into it than entire escape rooms I've played. ➕Tons of easter eggs for lovers of sci-fi, I love this room, mainly because of my love for Star Trek. ➕One of the special effects was one of the coolest I've seen in an escape room. ➕No padlocks, everything is tech with lots of tactile interactions, more than just screens and buttons. ➕Multiple rooms to explore ➕Many non-linear puzzles, so you can divide and conquer ➕Some (but not all) puzzles were fun ➕Lots of audio and lighting effects, custom video and animations ➕There is an interesting breakdown of how you did on compared to other teams at the end. ➕The owner/GM was nice to talk to, he was helpful when needed. Room for improvement: ➖While the puzzles mostly made sense and we knew what to do, many of them felt tedious and went on for too long, they felt more like time wasters that overstayed their welcome long after you get your "aha" moment. For example, most places would give you a memory puzzle or dexterity challenge that takes 4-6 steps, this room has more like 10-15 steps with a full reset every time you make a single mistake. It is not as fun having to repeat the same thing over and over again which can get frustrating. There is also nothing to write on which adds even more difficulty. ➖"Enthusiast mode" would be better if called "challenge" or "hard" mode. Unlike other places, it does not reward enthusiasts by giving you bonus puzzles and more dopamine hits, it just adds difficulty and makes the existing puzzles take longer which, to me, felt more like punishment for being an enthusiast. There might be a misconception that all enthusiasts love trying to beating records and finding the hardest games possible but those types of players are just a subset of the wider escape room community. Looking at the top games ranked by enthusiasts in Morty or TERPECA, they are rarely the most difficult games and if anything, tend to lean easier. ➖Many of the sound effects were too loud and chaotic. That was particularly annoying since some puzzles required listening to things. We finished as a team of 4 on "enthusiast mode" with around 3 minutes left. I would recommend teams of 4-5. There is no crawling or climbing required.

This was a great room! Everyone had a task and it was a very immersive experience.

The room was very well done and the game play matched the uniqueness of the experience. The puzzles were well done and much more engaging then some traditional escape room puzzles (no pad locks). Doors and compartments opened automatically and the interaction with the story was great.

High tech, fun

Number one-did we have fun…yes. That is most important. Was it the best room we have done…no. The rooms themselves were decorated great and fit the theme. I just personally like the more old school style of escape room for solving puzzles. This felt tech heavy to me, which is something I don’t particularly care for (and others may love!). I definitely think it is worth playing, and would think of playing more games here in the future. I just didn’t like some of the puzzles within the game itself.

The entire experience was completely immersive. The room, effects, and even the puzzles were truly on theme. The attention to detail was incredible, and it was obviously put together and run by people who truly love escape rooms. It was so much fun. The breakdown of your performance at the end was great! Loved it!

This is one of my favorite escape rooms! The puzzles were challenging, but not too difficult to complete. The theme was fun. The GM was passionate about the room and the story. This is a multi-room escape game. Each room was very detailed and fun. The puzzles were not linear so we really had to pay attention to details to figure out what all we needed to do. Solving the puzzles required a variety of skills which made them memorable.

Excellent experience. Immersive, unique puzzles, meticulous theming. Really combines all the best elements of a good escape room.
