The AttractionPalace GamesEscape roomIRLI had a great time at Palace Games previously in their Roosevelt room, but this room was such a disappointment. Our game master seemed extremely out of it and didnt add much to the experience. The set design was cool and the gimmick to transport from room to room was unique and interesting, however, there were several occasions where the game just broke and we were just stuck standing around because no GMs even realized that it was broken until we called for emergency help. Several puzzles were just randomly solved without us putting any thought or effort which made it feel so disconnected. And the theme of “the attraction” doesn’t make sense when it’s barely about old timey attractions at all. Really disappointed and not sure if I want to give Edison a try anymore…
Pier of FearEscaperoom 831Escape roomIRLThis is one of the better escape rooms I’ve done so far! The atmosphere was really well done and the set design was quite large and left a good impression. There were some scares but nothing that I would consider too overwhelming/horrifying for the general public. I was initially skeptical with the lower review count on Morty but I think there was a lot of love and passion put into the room and by the staff. Our GM was Kelly and she did an awesome job with getting us all set up and throughout the game!
The GateEscaperoom 831 - Wave StreetEscape roomIRLBeing my second room from Escaperoom 831, this one was a bit less exciting from their Pier of Fear room. The set design was quite interesting but it was much smaller than I anticipated. The room felt a lot older and worn down with some even affecting gameplay. There was a lot of sounds that indicated a puzzle being solved and something being unlocked but we kept getting stumped on what was the next unlocked area as there was little visual indication. Overall the design of the room was still fun and unique. I would say its an average experience~
