The Sins of Doctor Faustus
Captivating Worlds
Escape room

Can't say enough great things about Captivating Worlds! This story was incredible, the props and technology were next-level. Loved that this was an hour and a half, because it felt even more immersive as a result of that. My husband and I were running around and enjoying it so much!

Captivating W How orlds always blows us away! The theme of this room was super immersive, right from the beginning. It was very creative and unique. You can tell that David, the game master, puts a ton of hard work into the stories behind his rooms. Another escape room knocked out of the park!

This one truly lived up to the hype! Right when you step in, you are immersed in the story. There was a good variation of puzzles, some physical, some scavenger hunt, and some more cerebral. The logic ones were a lot of fun, and this room definitely had a wow factor in terms of setting and scenery! This was more linear than many other rooms we've tried, but the flow worked so well that it didn't cause any complaints. A couple puzzles would have been a lot easier with more than 2 people, but we still made it out. Countdown is such an impressive location--- we did two rooms during this stay and definitely plan to be back!

Another gem at Countdown! Impressive immersion, high tech puzzles, unique story, and fun interactions with the "AI." Lots of escape rooms are packed with a ton of generic puzzles, but this room certainly had quality over quantity and a good variety. Come see what makes Countdown so special!

Such a blast! My husband and I found this to be one of the cutest themes we've ever enjoyed, even though we've completed 50+ rooms! It was a bit challenging just the two of us, but we made it out with a few minutes to spare. None of the puzzles are extremely difficult; there are just a lot of them! The attention to detail and unique way this room tracks progress is so much fun!

This entire location does a great job of giving you puzzles where you need to be observant and make connections, such as noticing things that fit together. The set was incredible and the props were super unique and impressive. You can tell that a ton of hard work and attention to small details went into designing this room. The hint system was cute, and the GM gave great clues when we needed it.

To be honest, this was my least favorite game at Countdown. Countdown has always impressed us with their immersive set designs and originality, as well as flow through their huge spaces. However, this one is *mostly* just a room with a bunch of different locks. There is one surprise that we imagine some players never even get to see, so we felt like the pacing was off a bit. There was a lot of tedium and math involved, which also broke the immersion a little for me. Maybe Countdown set the bar too high, because I was honestly a little let-down... With that said, I'm sure I'll still be back someday! P. S. If you're inexperienced with escape rooms, or if you don't have a big group, I wouldn't recommend this. There was a massive amount of puzzles that my husband and I really couldn't have realistically have solved much faster on our own! P. P. S. Just saw the owners' response! Just wanted to clarify that we weren't complaining at all about the difficulty or the amount of puzzles. We would just recommend it more for larger groups. We really appreciated you letting us play even though we understood that it was meant to be experienced by more than 2 people at a time! One thing that keeps us coming back to Countdown (hours from home!) is the deeply imaginative and narrative flow throughout their rooms. This room just wasn't our favorite because we have *really* enjoyed our experiences in other rooms there!

When we first entered the room, we weren't sure what to expect, because it looked like there were a ton of basic locks. However, there were tons of other types of puzzles and variation. I don't want to spoil some, but after doing 40+ rooms, there was an element that we had never seen incorporated into an escape room before. It has a fun, playful atmosphere. Lots of fun puzzles even if we had to enter a lot of codes into locks! There were some pop culture references that my husband and I weren't familiar with, but we still had an absolute blast. We didn't feel like we were missing out on any jokes. Definitely going to always remember this room!!

Such an unforgettable experience! This isn't a typical escape room, but rather a highly immersive story told through a sequences of mysteries and puzzles. This was unlike any other experience we've had before! The story-telling and the setting enhanced the experience so much, and a lot of the charm was in how immersive and well-themed the whole property was. Be prepared that this is definitely in the dessert, and much of the adventure takes place outdoors. It's easier during the day, but the nighttime stars made it way more fun at night! This made it way more memorable for us, but definitely bring lots of water and the proper footgear! Like everyone else shared, this is such a unique and unrivalled experience. We were glad we had booked 2 nights and wished we'd had more time to enjoy more of what the property had to offer, as well as the nearby Joshua Tree National Park! You can tell that Blake and Bea have a knack for story-telling and creativity in general! Thanks for everything!!

Definitely only go into this room with a group you're comfortable with and if you aren't easily embarrassed by lots of sexuality and innuendo! With that said, this room was by far the most unique and ridiculous one my husband and I have ever encountered. So many of the puzzles had us cracking up while also being so impressed by how the theme was incorporated so well and so creatively. There were a TON of combination locks and it was just a single room, but overall, just a memorable experience!
