A nice iteration on part 1 of Noir. It has similar mechanics and puzzling, with some new spaces but a return to previous ones as well. It can be a bit confusing at first as you look at puzzles from the previous section and remember that this time you don’t need to solve them. Both game play and immersion are a solid 4 out of 5.

There’s a moment, about halfway through Shadow Zen, where I realized our team of four should have been solving slower. In the beginning, one of the owners told us to stay together, solve together, and experience it together. And we did. But we finished quickly enough that we could have spent more time in the incredible environment they created. Essentially, it’s a room designed to be experienced, not conquered. One of the things this room offers is an act of historical immersion. A faithful reproduction of the streets of Osaka from a hundred years ago. The textures, the colors, the subtle wear on the walls—it feel as much like historical fiction as an escape room. The puzzles? They’re there, and they’re solid, and sometimes intensely clever. One mechanic, in particular, added to our understanding of Japanese culture almost without our noticing it—until we stopped and realized what we’d just done. It was elegant. And then the room went somewhere we weren’t expecting. And we loved that, too. I don’t know if this room will be everyone’s favorite. If you’re here for puzzling challenges, you might leave wanting more. But if you’re here for immersion, for mood, for a thoughtful, culturally-rooted experience—this is a great option. You could do it with two people. But I’d recommend doing it with four. Not to be efficient—but to share it. Because this room, at its heart, wants to be a collective experience.

Baed Time is a play on “bedtime” and “bad time,” a sort of portmanteau for nightmare. With its eerie environments and minimalistic puzzles, Baed Time plunges players into a child’s nightmare that’s more about mood than mechanics. As you make your way through the alcoves and attics of a child’s nightmare, you criss cross between sets that prioritize to creativity and craft over seamless polish. A live actor provides well-timed jump scares, easily shifting between a couple different roles. The voice over and soundtrack are well done and add to the atmosphere. The real star is the lighting—cinematic in execution. Familiar objects reappear in unsettling ways, reinforcing the horror dream-logic that makes Baed Time so effective. From a gameplay perspective, the puzzles are on the easier side. The experience leans more into immersion than complexity, which means the focus stays on the eerie, fragmented narrative rather than deciphering. We played with the room maximum of six people, but you could play with fewer (you’ll need at least three players for one of the final puzzles, but I’ve been told they can override one of the inputs if you only have two). For non-Korean speakers, communication presents a minor hurdle. Oasis staff provide pre-written English instructions, and Google Translate assists with additional explanations. While the game master’s English is limited, most interactions are intuitive, with clear visual signposting minimizing the need for verbal guidance. Baed Time isn’t the most puzzle-dense or technically elaborate room, but what it lacks in complexity, it more than makes up for in atmosphere. Haunting, imaginative, and beautifully unsettling, it’s an experience that lingers long after you leave—highly recommended for horror fans and immersive experience enthusiasts alike.

My wife and I had a great time playing this game. There was a high level of immersion, a solid and logical puzzle flow, and even moments of levity and fun. The Indiana Jones theme is carried throughout, though the wrinkle of the four gods could use more development. Still, that's a minor quibble for a game that is out favorite at this location.

Some escape rooms impress. Some challenge. And then there are the rare few that transcend—games that don’t just test your logic but grip your emotions, that don’t just immerse you but make you care. This was my 100th escape room, a milestone I wanted to mark with something exceptional, and what I found here was beyond. The atmosphere, immersion, and puzzles were intricate, seamless, and alive. The acting was at a level rarely seen in escape rooms—so committed it felt more like stepping into a film. But what I didn’t anticipate, what I couldn’t have anticipated, was the emotional gravity of it all. By the end, I’ll admit it, I was teary. We flew to Houston just for this, endured numerous delays on our way, and yet, standing there in the final moments of the game, it was worth every second. There are great escape rooms, and then there are the ones that shift what is possible—this was the latter, and it was breathtaking.

Loved the room, even though it was more puzzle forward than narrative driven. Gorgeous set. The puzzles were cleverly aligned with the secrets and techniques of magicians, and though they were harder than the other three rooms we did here, they were all mostly fair. The only puzzle that was the exception was one where hearing was required… I thought perhaps it was an old(er) person thing, but my 16-year-old son also had difficulty. Turning the volume up would not detract from any of the core mechanisms involved in solving. The ending undercut the drama the room had been building. After an hour of excellent sets, lighting, and sound design, as well as clever puzzle integration, it was a let down to arrive at conclusion as flippant and idiomatic as this one. If I’m being generous, I would say the ending was consistent with what we learn about the character of the magician, but in a room that did so many things with beauty and elegance, I hoped for more. We were a team of two and needed to use the hint system a few times because there was a fair amount to do and time was running short, but i think a team of four could do it without problem. A couple notes about hints: 60 to Escape attempts to monetize them when booking, letting you know you only get six for the room, but offers ((for $15) to let you buy an unlimited amount. Even in this room, we never needed to use all of them. Their hints are extremely refined and useful at nudging you in the right direction. We were also told since we booked multiple rooms (4), we had an unlimited amount , and our game masters never mentioned the limited number. Nonetheless, the number of hints you have remaining are on the screen, and I could see this being something that distracts from the fun, especially for new players or players who might feel it’s more of a money grab.

A well done version of the creepy cabin theme. We were a team of two and enjoyed the variety of puzzles and the constant reveals. As always, the immersion and overall craft was top notch, as was the hint system. This was our seventh game (played a few in Chicago area the day before) in about 24 hours, so we were stronger in the first half before mental fatigue set in during the second half. Regardless, the staff was accommodating of our sloppier game play and gave us the nudges we needed, which was much appreciated.

Super fun game with unique moments. Loved how they had us interact with a video game and made it a group effort, and also loved the transition between the first room and the second. The ending was as exhilarating as it was enjoyable. We brought in family members and played as a team of six. There are parts of the room that would be hard to do with fewer than four (maybe it could be done with three, but I think you would need a GM’s help). Also loved the in game character.

Many interesting nooks and crannies in this classic take on a “save the kingdom from the evil wizard” theme. The room has a lovely atmosphere, and the small amount of video in the room has a professional look. It has more of the classic escape room tropes (I think this is their oldest room?) with black lights, bouncing lights, etc., but it still works because of a wonderful set and a devotion to a compelling narrative that places you at the center of the story.
