Marthas letzter AktCine Event CenterEscape roomIRLThis room is alright - for beginners. The set design itself is hard to judge due to it being an actual cinema. The room itself also gets rented out to groups to watch movies in, therefore all of the riddles are of mechanical nature so that they can be removed easily in such a case. The riddles were all pretty easy. We were 4 people in our group, but only two of us actually solved the riddles, so a group of 2 is more than enough to get through this room. What I liked though: the riddles fit the theme pretty well. I also really enjoyed that whenever you found smth to read, the paper also got shown on the big screen so that everyone could see it. That was a nice touch. The gamemaster sadly was kind of inexperienced - she had to read the rules aloud from her phone and she did play a hint too fast in the beginning (she stopped after I complained about that loudly). I wouldn't say I even remotely had fun in the room, but the two who were still beginners liked it. Not a room I'd recommend in general, but I guess it's okay enough.
The DemonTeamBreakout Hamburg [The Code Agency]Escape roomIRLAs someone who loves the Insidious movies, I was excited to play a room about little Dalton Lambert, but got hit by reality real fast: This room was insanely underwhelming. When it comes to horror rooms, I either expect good riddles and less horror or easy "riddles" and a lot of horror. This one had like no real horror and also way too easy riddles. The worst of both worlds. The gamemaster gave us "hints" way too early, so we finished with more than 20 minutes left, which made the experience way less fun than it could have been. The interaction with the actor in the room was a tad bit boring (and I'm usually easily scared) and we felt like being in a walking simulator (if you see light, go there). The set design is nice and they use the space pretty well, but the experience itself just didn't give me anything sadly.
The Dark ForestHorror StoriesEscape roomIRLI had fun playing this room. Before it started, I was insanely scared due to the expectations I had for this room since a lot of people told me it'd be one of the scariest escape rooms in Germany. To be honest: that fear vanished rather quickly. I did panic whenever we got hunted, but fear wasn't really present. I did get hurt quite a bit, which is pretty easily to achieve in this room, but it wasn't too bad. The actor in the beginning was AMAZING! He played his role soo well, it was great. The other actress was good too, but was mostly screaming at us, so there's not much to say about her character. The riddles are really really easy, which is to be expected of a horror room. But it was okay. The forest itself looked good, while being significantly smaller than I thought it would be. Since the forest is an open space, it was way too easy to find your way and since we also solved the riddles really fast, the actors almost had no time for their timed jumpscares 😅 But all in all, it's an enjoyable room even for a scaredy cat like me.
Asylum of Fear [prev. Das Sanatorium]Horror StoriesEscape roomIRLThis room was even more fun than Dark Forest. The set design was great, the actors did one hell of a good job and the riddles fit the theme. I expected something differently, but it was still definitely worth playing. Also didn't hurt myself this time, which was lovely.
Das Amulett Part 3 [The Amulet]66 MinutenEscape roomIRLThe best room this company offers while only making sense if you played the other two rooms of the trilogy. Interesting stuff to do and it's nice to see the whole story play out. Not a bad room, but not amazing either.
Geldrausch [Money Rush]66 MinutenEscape roomIRLProbably one of the better rooms of this company. The set looked great, the riddles were alright. Solid game, nothing too special though.
Trophäensammler [Trophy Collector]66 MinutenEscape roomIRLEasy riddles, okay set-design. At least one of the better rooms of this company, but still nothing I'd really recommend people to play if they are experienced.
Leichenschauschmaus [Funeral Feast]66 MinutenEscape roomIRLA room made for beginners. Definitely nothing for experienced players, but fun enough to spend a bit of time in. The riddles were alright, the set design okay. Only play if it's one of your first rooms or if you're fine finishing it in about half an hour.
Maditas Geheimnis [Madita's Secret]66 MinutenEscape roomIRLIf you're a kid, that's the room for you. For experienced players who like to figure riddles out for themselves instead of immediately being shown and told what to do, this room was not enjoyable at all.
Die Gasse [The Alley]Rätselraum Ruhrpott [prev. Escape Room Bochum]Escape roomIRLA fun room for any Harry Potter-fan! Since I cannot say that this description would fit my person, I wasn't too fond of this room's theme, but the puzzles were varied and fun, the set design is great. The gamemaster did her job very well. In my honest opinion this room isn't as amazing as a lot of people say, but it still deserves its good reviews
KURIOSUM - Artifact of DarknessEscape Room WittenEscape roomIRLAnother escape room that cannot be called an escape room. As much as I loved the set design and the eerie atmosphere, the riddles were kind of boring and way too easy. If you consider it an immersive experience, it's fine, but it definitely should not count as an actual escape room. The story sadly was also a bit confusing to follow. The gamemaster did an immaculate job at acting and told us a lot about the room afterwards, which was fun. If you like good set designs and do not care about actually having to solve hard riddles, this room definitely is fun. Keep in mind to not wear anything that shouldn't get dirty - I've never seen this much dirt and dust in a room in my entire life.
Leonardo da Vinci's CabinetLabyrintoomEscape roomIRLFun little room in which beginners can definitely have a lot of fun. The theme matches the design of the room and the riddles make sense. The middle section definitely is the strongest while the beginning and end are a bit on the weaker side.
REM - CLOSEDAudible OriginalEscape roomPop upThis room surprised me. The set design was insane - way more than what I'd expected for a short (and free of charge!) pop-up escape room. Sadly there wasn't really anything I'd truly consider a riddle, but it was still nice to play.
The Cube's CabinetLabyrintoomEscape roomIRLA white room that isn't white anymore at all. While I enjoyed the riddles and the overall story of the room, I was quite disappointed that the room isn't well kept anymore. It's so used up you can literally see where to find stuff bc the white room is stained a lot nowadays. I also wish the actual cube would have played a more important role.
Der König der Träume [The King of Dreams] [Immersive Experience]MiraculumEscape roomIRLDo not expect an actual escape room when you book this experience. This one is more of an immersive experience and does not have any puzzles that need you to think about the way to solve them for more than like 30 seconds. Everything is straightforward and insanely easy to solve. BUT! It was whimsical. I loved the way this room made me feel like a little kid. I couldn't stop smiling because the whole story was adorable, the atmosphere and props fit perfectly and the mood was never down. It's definitely more fitting for a family with small kids to play, but I still enjoyed the experience itself, even though I wouldn't recommend it if you wanted to actually solve puzzles. One section in the very beginning was so fun to me too, I didn't actually want to stop doing it, but the room told me so. I do not regret "playing" this room, but wouldn't book it on its own if you're expecting more than an immersive story.
Beast Of BerlinThe RoomEscape roomIRLSadly, this room fell very flat for me. While the atmosphere was fine and everything looked authentic enough, the story and the audiobook elements just didn't really make any sense to me and the ending itself was pretty abrupt. It was also nothing new - it was quite predictable what was going on since there already exists rooms with a story like this, There was also no scarefactor in any way, which I was a little bit hoping for due to the reviews I've read. The worst thing though was our gamemaster. While she was really friendly, she gave us way too many unnecessary hints, so we got out of the room 20min early (the room is 60min long nowadays, so we finished after 40min). We would have told her beforehand to not give us hints unless we were really stuck, but due to TheRoom's new concept we didn't meet our gamemaster until the end. Even when we stated in the room that we'd do a specific thing in a few seconds, she already told us to do that thing we already talked about. That just made the whole experience even worse. It felt like she didn't even want us to think about anything. As people who enjoy puzzles and riddles a lot and want to solve complex puzzles by themselves (the ones in this room were pretty easy, so there was no way we would have gotten stuck anyway), having someone give us some sort of tutorial for the room and not being patient enough to let us do stuff ourselves, is just one hell of an awful experience that made me have no real fun in the room. But even if we had a better gamemaster - the room itself just didn't feel special or specifically interesting, which is why I'm not gonna recommend it in any way.
Go WestThe RoomEscape roomIRLTrying to get out of East Berlin and straight to West Berlin was an experience that I never thought I'd have. But I enjoyed it SO MUCH. The authenticity of the props was amazing, you could just stare at some aspects in awe. The story was fun and the riddles were well integrated and immersive. Definitely one of my favorite rooms at this company. Sadly, our gamemaster (who we also had for "Beast of Berlin") couldn't stop giving us unnecessary hints. We got hints for stuff we already solved in that second and weren't allowed to think about anything any longer than a minute. Funnily enough she was actually more reserved and patient in this room than in "Beast of Berlin", but it was still not a good experience gamemaster-wise. I think I would have enjoyed this room even more if we had gotten a better gamemaster that wouldn't have annoyed us with irrelevant and unwarranted hints. In the end we got out way too fast again, I would have loved being in this room a bit longer and just being able to soak it in. Would definitely recommend this room due to the fun of it and the authenticity and details. But I hope you'll get a better gamemaster :)
Die Magische Musik-Maschine [The Magical Music Machine]Spybrain EscapeEscape roomIRLWe had a pretty good experience. The room is really cute and well-made. The owner is such a friendly person too, we had fun! We're definitely not the right people for a music-themed room, but you don't need any prior music knowledge to get through it, which is pretty great. The interior is nice, nothing too complicated, but with some cool stuff and gimmicks. You usually do need at least 3 players though, since the riddles aren't linear.
ParanormalTimeBreak BonnEscape roomIRLThis horror experience was freaking great. The atmosphere was amazing, the actor did a great job, I was actually scared (I'm a chicken though, so that's not hard to achieve). It's a well-made mix between actual riddles and scare factor. I especially loved that the game reminded me a lot of the videogame "Phasmophobia". We had lots of fun, definitely the best room Time Break Bonn has to offer!
Ancum – Der GroßeTimeBreak BonnEscape roomIRLThis room was pretty nice. We had a good flow, the riddles were logical and made sense for the theme. Atmosphere was alright, with some fun hiding spots for the things we needed. Sadly, the finale was a bit flat and unspectacular.
