The House On Clinton RoadFairfield Escape RoomEscape roomIRLSuzanna & Autumn were excellent game hosts and we had a wonderful time! The puzzles were logical and everything worked as it should have.
The Haunted ManorFairfield Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis is the newest game at this location and it was a lot of fun! We were hosted by Suzanna & Autumn and got a special visit from Miss Kylie 😁. IYKYK. There were some unique moments in this game that had us smiling and other “aha” moments that were pretty awesome too! The wallpaper in this game was hand painted by the staff and it looked great and was very on theme.
Once Upon A WinterThe Other Tales Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLDon’t let the size of this game fool you. This small space is packed with puzzles and charm. I absolutely loved this escape room. I would recommend 2-4 players max.
Bunker 46Fairfield Escape RoomEscape roomIRLWe played this game as a group of 6, had 15 minutes left, took 1 hint and were hustling the ENTIRE time. There is a lot to do in this escape room so if you are not movin’ & groovin’ you’re likely falling behind. That said, even though a lot is available to you at once, the puzzles are logical and everything worked seamlessly. It was also very clean which is always appreciated. Our group had fun and we were given a full debrief and walkthrough when we were done to help everyone see what they missed. I would recommend this escape room to anyone who: -Doesn’t need to be part of every puzzle -Enjoys a challenge -Isn’t afraid to take a hint -Is prepared to spread out to connect the dots Thank you Autumn for hosting us and to Suzanna who took our last minute reservation. 🥰
Secrets Of The TombFairfield Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis was the first game we played at this location. We thought the set was thematic and there was one particular prop that I have seen in other escape rooms but was skinned to fit this theme really well. (I really appreciated the unique use of this prop) The mission and the goal of this game was clear and you knew exactly when you accomplished that goal! The puzzle logic was solid and the lighting was sufficient. Thank you Suzanna & Autumn for hosting us!!!
Legends of the Serpent's TempleThe Bureau Adventure GamesEscape roomOther I’m a little shocked to see I’m the odd one out here with a heart rating, but we all have different reasons behind our ratings so here’s my feedback: -I had fun. Genuinely a good time. This is always my #1 marker behind my ratings. If I had fun, smiled, laughed and enjoyed time with the people i’m with, I’m not your harshest critic. -The set was very pretty and on theme. -The challenges allowed a variety of skill sets to come to the table ranging from critical thinking, dexterity and reaction time. -I can see how one challenge could be perceived as “off brand” but I still had fun with it. -The “God” was a little tough to hear at times. Fortunately I was able to make it out but if your group is rowdy it may be harder. -Our host (Jamie Lynn?) was enthusiastic and clearly happy to be there to host our group. She did a great job. -The experience was shorter than an hour, however I don’t feel this is a fair metric to rate the game poorly because there was no expectation that it would take an hour. Did I long for more content and think the experience would benefit from it? Of course, I was having a great time. Do I fault them or rank them down for this? No way. This is NOT an escape room and no expectations were set for how much time it would take. -The Bureau recognized that this game show better suited smaller groups. The capacity on this one is 8 as opposed to 12 in their classic game show. Having played both, I appreciate their decision to do this. -That being said, not all of the participants are able to be part of every interaction. There are 2-3 challenges in particular that I can think of that limit the amount of people able to participate. I can see how this may upset certain people if you need to be part of every interaction to consider it worthwhile. Again, this is not a metric I feel is objective enough to rank this experience poorly, because if your teammates are cool, it’s very easy to give everyone an opportunity to shine. All in all I believe The Bureau is adding value to the interactive entertainment world and to their own venue by hosting these game show style experiences. With some small tweaks I think the experience could be even better, but I would still encourage anyone to play. If you’re booking this experience, expect to have fun. It truly was. Similarly to an escape room, be kind to your teammates and allow everyone to be part of the experience.
