ConfinementRed Door Escape Room - San DiegoEscape roomIRLFun, solid game! Interesting, unique, & somewhat dark story. Fantastic GM and pro front desk. Gameplay had a nice flow with multiple rooms. Nonlinear and interesting mix of puzzle types. Really enjoyed very much!
The Lost ExpeditionSteal and EscapeEscape roomIRLLovely experience. Essentially linear gameplay, puzzles each individually satisfying. Unique split start- required independence (maybe because we were a team of only two?). We each had to solve a couple puzzles on our own before reuniting - which we enjoyed! Thanks Steal and Escape - we can’t wait for your new room!
DaVinci ChallengeLara’s Labyrinth - San Diego [prev. Quest Room]Escape roomIRLOur GM John was great! Helpful hints when we needed them - especially helpful when the puzzles themselves were a but sticky in operation. The puzzle types were really fun and varied. We had trouble getting started but our GM helped us get unstuck. One puzzle was so finicky that, even though we knew how to solve it, we couldn’t get the sensors to fire. There were issues with lighting: certain lights that should’ve been lit weren’t and a couple puzzles were so dimly lit that the darkness was more the issue than the puzzle itself. Still, definitely worth a play! We’ve done two games now at Lara’s Labyrinth and will definitely be back!
40 ThievesMindTrap Escape Room - TemeculaEscape roomIRLSatisfying, nonlinear gameplay with creative and surprising room layout. Delightful use of technology; a couple locks but nothing diverted from the immersive experience. No one puzzle was especially difficult - but there were a healthy number of them. Many puzzles were tactile and many required cooperation. Lots of detail in design and some humorous puzzles/reveals. Highly recommend!
Heart Of Bastet [prev. Red Giant]Lara’s Labyrinth - San Diego [prev. Quest Room]Escape roomIRLWonderful atmosphere, fun puzzles (nothing too hard), and Whinney was an excellent GM! Really nice attention to detail in terms of the props. Well cared for. Fun reveals and payoffs. Nice variety of environments and puzzle types. Highly recommend!
Haunted HouseEscapology - Chula VistaEscape roomIRLLove the atmosphere, and some of the puzzles solve payoffs were really enjoyable. Nice combo of types of puzzles. Well produced and fun. Not the most mind blowing or inventive but enjoyable nonetheless.
7 Deadly SinsEscapology - Chula VistaEscape roomIRLFun! Not the hardest or most inventive but a really solid and well produced experience. Didn’t feel like the GMs were 100% watching only our game but we managed ok despite that. They were very friendly!
The Family CabinQuicksand Escape GamesEscape roomIRLCute theme, fun puzzles with a sense of humor. Lots of puzzles and lots of locks but no one puzzle was especially hard. Has some wear and tear but over nostalgic and entertaining. Our GM was super nice and gave us a bit of extra time (which was especially generous because we were late due to traffic). Definitely recommend!
Budapest ExpressEscapology - San DiegoEscape roomIRLLove Agatha Christie and this was a similar vibe. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and back story of this one. Props a little worse for wear but really enjoyed the vintage experience!
Black and White CafeMindFox EscapeEscape roomIRLCharming & clever! Gameplay was clear; all the tech worked nicely. Simple but not simplistic. GM Charlie was super friendly and provided just the right amount of assistance. We loved Moriarty and B&W Cafe, and we will definitely be back for your new room when it opens!
The NeighborSteal and EscapeEscape roomIRLWorked well with two people. My husband and I have done six escape rooms and this felt like just the right level of challenge and novelty for us. Really fun use of interactive technology. GM Kevin was helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended!
Mutiny: Skull IslandEscape Games at the RiverEscape roomIRLImmersive experience, excellent finale, creative hinting
Speakeasy NouveauQuicksand Escape GamesEscape roomIRLCute game - very lock heavy. Logical flow. Had fun :)
Moriarty's ManorMindFox EscapeEscape roomIRLFantastic game! Multi-sensory puzzles were challenging but made sense. We were impressed and delighted by the inventiveness of the mechanisms. One mechanism in particular was a real centerpiece and a blast to manipulate (can’t say more without spoiling it)! Puzzle environment was atmospheric but not overwhelmingly so. Our gracious game master Isabella provided exactly the right amount of nudging to get us through. Highly recommended!
Mansion MurderEscapology - San DiegoEscape roomIRLOur first escape room! Took us two days because we didn’t ask for clues on day 1. They gave us a discount for day 2 ☺️. Fun and a little spooky. Lots of puzzles. Story conclusion ultimately did not make sense. I spent too much time trying to solve the overall mystery when in fact the room was pretty much linear and just puzzle based. Still fun!
