Al Capone's Den

Walking in we got the feel of an apartment set in the early part of the 1900's. We were given instruction that we needed to find evidence that the famed mobster Al Capone was running a bootleg outfit. Our role, we were detectives and only had an hour to get the evidence. Our group was able to shift through the belongings in this old apartment. The majority of our search was to find keys or combinations to open locks. At first, we had a few keys and had a hard time matching them with the locks. The game was mostly linear. Which in this case wasn't bad exactly. The placement of locks and clues did keep us busy until everything started to fall into place. Multiple puzzles were physical. There was a decent blend of tech mixed into the room to not make it boring and keep a few things fresh. There were some interesting surprises in room design and clue distribution. Our party of four were able to search the room independently and in small groups to get what we needed to progress. We were a little stumped near the end. But we will admit we did have to guess solve the last lock to make it out in time. Overall it was our first experience at this location and we would like to go back and see what other challenges we could face there.

Welcome the the circus!!! And the first impressions were definitely something. Our group started in a somewhat cozy room. Which was themed perfectly, there were no deviations from the circus theme. There were a few surprises ahead of us. The fully immersive circus theme filled our senses. All the puzzles were also a perfect fit. Some of my favorite puzzles were based on a few midway games, which really tied in the gameplay. Once again this is a non-linear room so all the players can work on different aspects and not wait till a puzzle is solved before continuing, I mean of course, they are all caught up and solved the puzzles up to that point. Our group has found this to be a relaxed but entertaining room.

Here we stand in a "wizarding school" We are given a little heads-up on what our goal is. Starting out in the library we need to get to our goal by solving various puzzles and looking for keys to open various locks. Legendary is known as a crafter for escape rooms so I had full confidence that the experience would be complete and satisfying. This brings to the fact that this room is not just solving a puzzle, get a key to a clue, and then solve another puzzle. The rooms here allow people to explore and work on multiple puzzles. It's also a great option that if someone gets stuck on one they can switch with another player on another puzzle with a fresh view. As with all escape rooms, we did encounter a few grey areas where outside knowledge was necessary and the cipher or hint could be found organically in the confines of the room. many areas found in posters, or notes in the room did help to find and solve 90% of the puzzles. There was one in particular unless we all missed the direction on how to solve it. We had to get a little instruction from the GM. While playing the puzzles, the room certainly had a variety to them and there were some real tricky ones out there that burned our time. There were a couple of them your team had to think somewhat outside the box. And not everything you see was to be taken for granted. There may have been a few red herrings in the mix. Our team had a great time and we have done many escape rooms. This would make our third one at this location.

We were ushered in by our GM gave us the basic info, and informed us what we could and could not touch. The "entry room" was already interesting. There was enough to search for due to the nature of the room. Not a linear puzzle like a few places we encountered. We encountered many variations of puzzles and We did not really experience any repeat type of puzzle. The lighting was low. But that did not affect any of the puzzles we were trying to solve.
