VanishedEscape From St. LouisEscape roomIRLÀ fun room for me and two preteens. Hardly spooky which was fine for me! We finished with 15 minutes remaining. A wide variety of puzzles including a couple I have not seen before.
Marcheurs de rêves [The Dreamwalkers]Cabinet MysteriisEscape roomIRLThis room was a big disappointment to my family and me. I’ve done close to 90 escape rooms with probably a 96% escape success, and yet we were still so far from completing this one. I think our main problems came down to communication difficulties. Our GM was clearly primarily a French speaker. He did speak English, but there were so many times he could have nudged us in the right direction but instead kept giving us the same line over and over about using the book. With a little help, we would have realized where our misunderstandings were, fixed them, and then escaped. The room was interesting. But it just left an overall bad taste in our mouth.
Mystery MansionBreakout Games - GreenvilleEscape roomIRLA fun room. A small semi-surprise. A couple unique puzzles. Relied a lot on printed pages though.
A Not So Fairytale EndingLock, Clock, and Peril Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLSuch an elaborate room! A ton of puzzles! But game flow was great so easy to tell what needed to be done. Cute and fun!
The NeighborSteal and EscapeEscape roomIRLMy family of 4 (kids 10 and 12) thought this was a really fun room with some innovative puzzles. We also completed The Lost Expedition at this location two days before, but this was our favorite. Definitely a room that requires teamwork to get it all done.
The Lost ExpeditionSteal and EscapeEscape roomIRLA good room for teamwork. We liked this room a lot but preferred The Neighbor at Steal and Escape a bit more. An innovative way to control the time countdown.
The Deadwood SaloonMasterpiece EscapesEscape roomIRLEntertaining. Not as good as Wrecked but more appropriate for kids.
Adventures in Wonderland - CLOSEDWondermore Escape AdventuresEscape roomIRLLots of rooms. Moving from one to the next felt like the episodes in the Alice in Wonderland book. I liked that the puzzles used books references too. Most puzzles were not terribly hard. And none of the puzzles required moving backwards to previously used rooms. It was a good room to do with kids.
Haunted MausoleumEscape LOLEscape roomIRLGood theme. Spooky but not scary. Lots of puzzles and several rooms. Friendly GMs. Our family had a fun time!
Help WantedEscape Artist Greenville - Hampton StationEscape roomIRLThis is an awesome escape room. The theme/story is very unique and fun. But the highlight is how well they do character interactions in the game. Some of the characters are real people and some not, but both SO well done. And yet, there’s still so much left to you to solve. (In contrast with The Bureau in Orlando which I felt had too much leading.)
WreckedMasterpiece EscapesEscape roomIRLWe liked this room a lot! The sound and decor was top notch. The first part is fairly linear, but the second half is not. I had some mixed feelings about some of the puzzles in the first part, but the puzzles in the last third were really well integrated into the story and to me that made them more satisfying.
Pandora’s BoxTrapped! Escape Room - Las VegasEscape roomIRLI loved this room. It’s probably in my top 5-8. There were only two of us, but it was a good number since it’s so linear.
Alice's DreamMind Twist Escape ExperienceEscape roomIRLCute. Some good puzzles. Good decor. Not a lot of locks. But not as immersive as I’ve come to expect.
Sasquatch: Bigfoot's RevengeEscape The NetherworldEscape roomIRLA definite new favorite of mine. Some jump scares and a great overall creepy ambiance. Some puzzles harder than they needed to be, thankfully our GM was helpful. These guys have story, atmosphere, and room design down, but they could probably improve on some of the puzzle designs. But the room was really enjoyable overall, and I look forward to trying more of their rooms in the future.
The DepthsThe Escape Game - The BatteryEscape roomIRLA cool set. A good premise. Some cool puzzles and tech. Overall very enjoyable! Think I enjoyed The Market one a bit more, but this one was really good.
Special Ops: Mysterious MarketThe Escape Game - The BatteryEscape roomIRLI’ve done two Escape Game rooms. One in Vegas and one in Atlanta. This ATL one was WAY better. But partially I think it was better because my friend and I had a private room in ATL while in Vegas we were lumped in with the most random collection of characters, some of whom never seemed to have done a 12 piece puzzle. I understand that’s not specifically an issue with the Escape Game. But I don’t LOVE that they don’t do private bookings with small groups. Most escape rooms companies provide that these days.
Puppet Heist: The Hand Of LifeThe Bureau Adventure GamesEscape roomIRLThis room was unlike any of the other 30+ rooms I’ve done. Excellent use of characters and tech. Highly recommend. But probably most suitable to a group of 4 (we had 9). Not as many things to solve or figure out as some escape rooms.
Dr. BraingoodThe Bureau Adventure GamesEscape roomIRLReally unique take on a escape room. More like an interactive story. People who live for the puzzles might be a little disappointed though. This room is more about story, atmosphere, and characters. There are things to figure out, but probably a group of 4 would be ideal. A definite don’t miss experience.
Wild WestBreakout Games - GreenvilleEscape roomIRLI did this room with a group of 6, 4th to 6th graders. We escaped in record time. To be honest our game master gave us a few too many urequested hints towers the end of the game. But it was fun, and we all enjoyed it. The main thing I was disappointed about was that several of the puzzles seemed to be broken or not working correctly. Some things that were supposed to pop open didn’t. Some things that were supposed to make noise didn’t. A little disappointing for a fairly new room. Overall a not terribly challenging room, but one that was good for a group with kids.
DaVinci DiamondFox-N-Otter Adventure Escapes South Asheville LocationEscape roomIRLA friend and I did this room together and were seconds from getting out when we ran out of time. :( But we had a lot of fun in the room together. It was a very non-linear room, so it would have been good for a larger group. The puzzles were creative, but according to my friend “made sense.”
