Our adventure in the Camp Crystal Lake Escape Room at Bust Out Escape Room took us by surprise as we were instantly thrust into a world of horror and suspense, just like in the cult classic Friday the 13th movies. ⛺⚡🌧️🔪he attention to detail in recreating the ominous atmosphere of Camp Crystal Lake was nothing short of astonishing. With realistic fog, immersive lighting, and the distant rumble of thunder, we felt as if we were part of a classic horror scene, complete with memorable moments from the iconic film series. 🌲🌧️🌠 Unlike some of the more modern escape rooms, the Camp Crystal Lake Escape Room followed a Generation 1 style with an abundance of locks and keys. This throwback approach only enhanced the sense of nostalgia and made us appreciate the genre even more. It may be old-school, but it's still an absolute blast! 🗝️🔒🪓🩸

The ambiance of the room, filled with retro décor and quirky memorabilia, instantly immersed us in a world of UFOs, conspiracy theories, and extraterrestrial puzzles. 🌌📼🚀 Area 53 is a treasure trove of unique puzzles, a refreshing change from the electronic-heavy rooms. This escape room relied on locks, keys, and traditional mechanisms, which was a welcome throwback to the good old days of solving riddles with your hands. The tactile engagement in deciphering these puzzles brought a sense of nostalgia and excitement. 🗝️🔒🧩

Out of 350+ games I’ve played. This is my top 10 worst experiences I’ve ever had in an escape room. Well for starters it’s the most expensive, you have to pay more if you want a privet game, their booking fee is 9% (higher than any other escape room in town), the game masters are not “masters” of anything at all. In fact, it seems like they are randomly hired and not trained or even know what an escape rooms are, how to properly prepare groups for entering an escape game, or even reset and prepare the room to be played. Half of the puzzles were unlocked, there was something that did absolutely require force (so much force that I broke a nail) none of the puzzles made I any sense, the and when we asked for a hint, we were waiting for over 5 mins for the game master to pay attention to even notice we were asking for a hint. This resulted in us walking out of the game, and straight out the front door. We were never confronted. So if you were looking to waste your money and have a horrible experience, then this is your place. Worst escape room in New Mexico, and in the country. -100/10.
