My family and I experienced two rooms in one evening, The Shack and The Amazing Argo. Both were solid, engaging and fun albeit different escape adventures. I’ll begin by stating that we have been to many escape rooms and it is always a pleasure to encounter owners and GMs that are enthusiastic about their work. The Experience Machine provided both with owner, Andres, performer Raphael, and GM Hannah. All of them contributed to an exceptional time for my family and I. Top recommendation forThe Shack. This experience it truly unique because it provides the perfect blend of escape room components and immersive theater. It truly provides the ambiance, storyline and performance (a live actor assumes the role as an investigator) that immerses participants into the role of assistant investigators. So as not to give too much away, I will say that it was a creepy, engaging and intriguing room. Raphael, the live actor, playing Gabriel carries this experience as it is up to him to guide us to clues and information while maintaining solid immersion in the story. This is no easy task, but Raphael was excellent and his performance was top notch and on par with what one would expect from a regarded theatrical production. So to bring this element to an escape scenario with puzzles, clues etc elevates the experience to a new level of immersion giving guests the gift of deciding to keep it closer to a puzzle escape room or delving deeper bringing their own creativity to the experience. This is what makes The Shack stand out as one of our favorite escape rooms to date. My teenage daughters had such enthusiasm for this room leaving me with the thought that the creators are on to something special here and in hopes that there will be more to come.I would say that The Shack should be a priority for those who are up for a bit of a change.
