The Serial KillerEscape Utah - Midvale [prev. Castle of Chaos]Escape roomIRLSerial Killer was a pretty fun game, it started off kinda like every other escape room, once we were all handcuffed and put into the room it was pretty spooky. We struggled a little bit with the final puzzle, but got out still wearing our cuffs. My group just didnt look for the handcuff key. After talking to the staff one of them explained they started letting people choose how scary the experience can be. They sometimes run rooms with no actor in them and guest just start handcuffed at the start, and they dont do any scares at all. The room is a little gorey with fake arms and body props ain't the first room My group wanted as scary as possible, because why not. Once we got past the rules and on-boarding process, our GM personality changed they played the part of the serial killer perfectly. Even did an outfit change (after bagging and handcuffing us to our start) and couple of pop and jumpscares. It made the game a little hard. And time pressure really got to us, we had about 40 to 30 seconds left when we finally got out. The ending of the game was really well set up, the exit is terrifying (it one of the rooms at the haunted house, that happens to be right next to the escape room, has some REALISTIC body props made by their FX team. My group chatted their ears off for sure.
There's Gnome Place Like HomeEscape Utah - Midvale [prev. Castle of Chaos]Escape roomIRLThe escape room was a very cutesy storyline, not scary like anything else they have. The staff told us the spooky themed rooms are downstairs, the beginning half of the rooms was a breeze, the 2nd half was a little more challenging but the room visuals in that 2nd half are amazing.
