MindTrap Escape Room - Temecula
Escape room
IRL
Loved this room. One of my favorites I’ve done so far. Lots of unique puzzles I haven’t seen elsewhere that involved some cool tech. No combo locks. Great for a group of 4—you can be working on different puzzles at the same and it’s mostly non-linear. Also requires some teamwork at times, which I always like. Would highly recommend this room to others.

Loved this puzzle heavy room for 2 people. The theming was very well done and loved that most of the puzzles weren’t ones I had seen before. Almost no combo locks, which was nice. Not the most difficult room, but enjoyable nonetheless. Would recommend to others. Did not love that it’s $60/person for 2 people, but drops down to $45/person for 3. ☹️

We loved the cyberpunk theming of this room! It was one of the more unique themes for an escape room that I’ve done so far too. Just a very cool experience with a really well made set design. You could really feel the enthusiasm that went into making this room. Would definitely recommend! We definitely plan on coming back to do any other experience these folks create in the future too!

This was my 24th escape room and I think my favorite that I have done so far! I lived the high volume of puzzles and that there was a lot to do. It felt like a great room for 4 people, keeping all of us busy the whole time.

Our group had a great time in this room. We had a mix of experienced players and some who had never done an escape room before. Even with 6 people, there were plenty of puzzles and space for all of us. Most rooms I prefer to do with just 2 people, but this one can support bigger groups better than most. We loved the unique puzzles in this room that you don’t see in other escape rooms. It’s also great how this room uses more tech and less combo locks. Also loved that it’s not retreading the same story you’ve already played a dozen times before. Overall this is one of the better rooms in the Phoenix area and well worth the drive out to it.

We had a great time in The Hex Room. It’s a very immersive room with a horror movie theme, definitely a little creepy but no jump scares. Everyone gets the chance to solve their own puzzles, but they can also get help from the group. Requires good teamwork and communication.

This is my favorite escape room I have done to date. I plan to do all the other Clever Fox rooms that I can now!

The theming in this room was very cute! Perfect for someone who loved/loves Winnie the Pooh as a kid. The puzzles were not too difficult, but fit the theme quite well. I enjoyed the story that progressed as you went through the room too. Would be a great room to do with kids or newer players. I would have liked more of a challenge, though. We had a lot of time left when we finished with just 2 people.

I read a lot of reviews of this experience before I did it, so I felt adequately prepared to go into this not with an escape room mentality, but with more of an open mind to just experiencing this place. Pros: - Several novel ways of telling a story, incorporating a few light puzzles to figure out, and progressing you through the experience. - Amazing set design full of great objects. It certainly immersed you in the idea that you are exploring an old storage locker. - Our GM was very in character and did a great job playing her part. Cons: - The story felt a little lackluster. I wish there had been more depth to it or a deeper message to turn over in my mind afterwards. If this single aspect had been improved, this would have easily taken this to a “Love” rating for me. As it is, I felt a little let down by the boringness of the story. Perhaps if there had been a mystery to unravel or more interesting life events or some more reflection on how the person felt about her life events, I could have derived more enjoyment from the experience. It just needed a little bit more meat to it. - We went on a very hot day and it was too warm in the room. They had some light A/C in there, but I still sweated the whole time, which made it a little uncomfortable. - I wish there was a bit more to the story/experience that made it longer, as it felt a little too quickly progressed between the different story points. Right when it starts to get a bit interesting, you abruptly jump from one life event to another and then it’s over and there’s not much to feel about it. Just a little too straightforward. I wanted to feel conflicted or shocked or saddened or empathetic or something, but it was just a little bit too simplistic and straightforward of a story for any strong feelings to form.
