I don’t know if I just got lucky with a really good actor when I walked through, but I got more jump scares on this maze than any of the others. The creepy guys with film reels for a head were particularly freaky and really got in my face and followed me around—it was great!

I loved this theme of hypnotization. Of all the mazes at Knott’s, this one is the best at telling you a complete story throughout the entire maze. The voice talks to you through the entire maze, which makes perfect sense for the hypnotization theme. There are also some really cool, freaky moments during this maze where they play with your mind. I only wish there were even more mind tricks sprinkled all throughout!

I like the idea of having something of a museum or an homage to their past mazes. While it doesn’t make for a continuous storyline, they do get to cherry pick the coolest moments from a previous mazes to show off. That being said, as a person who hasn’t been going to this event for years, they don’t really mean much to me and it just seems like a hodgepodge of a maze. So I guess it if I could pick, I’d rather have a new maze with a complete theme than this. But I would take this over not having a 10th maze at all.
Ghost Town Streets
Knott’s Scary Farm
Haunt
Scare zone
This is by far the best of all the scare zones this year. With the lighting and fog creating the creepy atmosphere you are hesitant to walk through, the scare actors make it full of jump scares when they surprise you.

This is always one of the more memorable mazes for me for some reason, after coming to Knott’s Scary Farm for a few years in a row now. Maybe it just matches the theme of the area in the park the best, so it seems well suited for it. Not my favorite theme, but certainly a clear story being told and a more memorable line experience than any of the others. I like that they actually explain the story a little bit while you are in line, with a person calling for the hanging of Sarah Marshall.

This was one of the freakier of the 8 mazes this year. Would definitely recommend it.

Love this unique and distinctive theme. It’s fun if you go by at the right time to see them swing dancing and doing their performance.

This was a well made maze. None of us understood the theme or where the name of the maze comes from. I felt this was a missed opportunity. They could have educated you on this in the line outside the maze.
Monstruos 2: The Nightmares of Latin America
Halloween Horror Nights

This was one of our favorites of the 8 haunted mazes this year at Hollywood Horror Nights.

I thought this was a great idea for a haunted maze, preying on many people’s fear of spiders. The combination with a nursing home infestation made it an even more unique idea, although I wish I’d understood that element of the story a little more. As a person who is scared of spiders in real life, I think they could go even further with this to take advantage of that natural fear. I hope that they go even further next year.
