My wife and I recently played the AI Apocalypse room at Puzzled in Taffs Well. It’s a genuinely unique sit‑down escape room, unlike anything we’ve tried before. I absolutely loved the concept, though my wife wasn’t quite as taken with it — so it’s definitely one of those “your mileage may vary” experiences. --- 👍 What We Liked • Challenging, clever puzzles The room leans heavily into mental problem‑solving rather than physical searching, which kept us fully engaged. • Strong technological element You actually need to use a website as part of the game, which adds a modern twist and keeps the experience dynamic. • Great for players with mobility needs Since it’s a sit‑down room with minimal physical movement, it’s ideal if you prefer puzzles over physical tasks. • Free snacks throughout A small touch, but a very welcome one. • A completely new concept for us We’ve done a lot of rooms, and this one genuinely felt different. --- 👎 What Could Be Better • The music is quite loud It can be turned down on request, but it’s noticeably intense at first. • Lots of small components There are many bits and pieces to keep track of. If you don’t move completed puzzles out of the way, things can get confusing fast. • Not ideal for large groups The format and space seem best suited to 2–3 focused players rather than a big team. --- 📝 Overall Thoughts AI Apocalypse is an acquired taste, but if you enjoy more difficult, cerebral puzzles and appreciate a tech‑driven escape room, it’s absolutely worth trying. It’s distinctive, challenging, and refreshingly different from traditional escape room formats.

Andy’s Room is a bright, colourful escape experience that immediately stands out from more traditional, darker‑themed rooms. It’s clearly designed to be fun, friendly, and accessible — and in many ways, it succeeds. 👍 What We Liked • Clean and well‑kept — The room felt fresh and tidy, which really helped the colourful theme shine. • Vibrant and playful design — The décor is cheerful and immersive, perfect for families or anyone wanting a lighter escape room vibe. • Lots of puzzles — There’s no shortage of things to do, and the variety keeps you moving. • A unique, upbeat concept — The whole experience feels different from the usual escape room formula, leaning into fun rather than fear or tension. 👎 What Could Be Better • Puzzles were quite simple — While the quantity is high, the difficulty is low. Great for beginners, but seasoned players may find it under‑stimulating. • Perfect for kids, less so for experienced teams — The design and puzzle style feel very family‑oriented, which is great if that’s what you’re after. • The planets didn’t seem to have a clear purpose — This element felt disconnected from the rest of the game and didn’t add much to the experience. • Puzzle flow was unclear — The puzzles didn’t naturally lead from one to the next, and the provided map of puzzle order made things feel a bit too guided and simplistic. 🎯 Overall Andy’s Room is a cheerful, colourful escape room ideal for families, kids, and first‑time players. It’s clean, fun, and packed with puzzles — but experienced escape room fans may find the challenge level too light and the puzzle flow a bit disjointed. With a clearer progression and slightly more complexity, it could appeal to a wider range of players.

Sealed Fate is one of the most unique escape experiences out there — and absolutely not one for the claustrophobic. If you can’t lie still for an hour, this won’t be your game. But if you’re open to something different, it delivers a surprisingly clever and memorable challenge. 👍 What We Liked • Strong teamwork element — Communication and cooperation are essential, which makes the experience feel genuinely collaborative. • Glow‑in‑the‑dark sticks — A fun, atmospheric touch that adds to the novelty of the setup. • You acclimatise quickly — The initial “oh wow, this is tight” feeling fades faster than expected. • Clever puzzles — Smartly designed and engaging without being overwhelming. • Not overly taxing but still interesting — A good balance that keeps you focused without feeling stressed. • A genuinely unique concept — It stands out from traditional escape rooms in a big way. 👎 What Could Be Better • The initial claustrophobic feeling — It’s part of the concept, but it can be intense at first. • Not being able to sit up — Again, it’s the whole idea of the game, but it does limit comfort and movement. 🎯 Overall Sealed Fate is a bold, inventive escape experience that leans into its confined setting to create something truly different. Once you settle into the space, the teamwork, glow‑stick atmosphere, and clever puzzles make it engaging and memorable. It won’t suit everyone — especially those who dislike tight spaces — but for players seeking something fresh and unconventional, it’s a standout.
