AI ApocalypsePuzzled Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLMy wife and I recently played the AI Apocalypse room at Puzzled in Taffs Well. It’s a genuinely unique sit‑down escape room, unlike anything we’ve tried before. I absolutely loved the concept, though my wife wasn’t quite as taken with it — so it’s definitely one of those “your mileage may vary” experiences. --- 👍 What We Liked • Challenging, clever puzzles The room leans heavily into mental problem‑solving rather than physical searching, which kept us fully engaged. • Strong technological element You actually need to use a website as part of the game, which adds a modern twist and keeps the experience dynamic. • Great for players with mobility needs Since it’s a sit‑down room with minimal physical movement, it’s ideal if you prefer puzzles over physical tasks. • Free snacks throughout A small touch, but a very welcome one. • A completely new concept for us We’ve done a lot of rooms, and this one genuinely felt different. --- 👎 What Could Be Better • The music is quite loud It can be turned down on request, but it’s noticeably intense at first. • Lots of small components There are many bits and pieces to keep track of. If you don’t move completed puzzles out of the way, things can get confusing fast. • Not ideal for large groups The format and space seem best suited to 2–3 focused players rather than a big team. --- 📝 Overall Thoughts AI Apocalypse is an acquired taste, but if you enjoy more difficult, cerebral puzzles and appreciate a tech‑driven escape room, it’s absolutely worth trying. It’s distinctive, challenging, and refreshingly different from traditional escape room formats.
Abandon ShipPuzzled Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLWe recently tackled the Abandon Ship room at Puzzled in Taffs Well, and it turned out to be a genuinely enjoyable and memorable escape room experience. What We Loved • Great balance of tech and traditional puzzles The room blends modern mechanisms with classic puzzle‑solving in a way that feels natural and satisfying. • A well‑thought‑out story with clear objectives The narrative was easy to follow, and we always understood what we were working toward. • Unique puzzles that required real thought Several puzzles stood out as clever and refreshingly different from what we’ve seen elsewhere. • Immersive details and personal touches Without giving anything away, the extra personal touches added to the room were super impressive. They made the environment feel more authentic and elevated the whole experience. What Could Be Improved • A slightly confusing start The opening moments left us unsure of what we were meant to do, and it took a little while to get our bearings. Once we got going, everything flowed well. Overall A solid, well‑designed escape room with thought‑provoking puzzles and a strong sense of immersion. Abandon Ship offers a great mix of challenge, creativity, and atmosphere — a great all‑round escape room experience.
Going UpPuzzled Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLWe had a brilliant time tackling the Going Up room at Puzzled Escape Rooms. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and the staff were absolutely fab — friendly, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate about what they do. What we loved: • The digital interface controlling the spaceship was a real standout. It added a level of immersion we haven’t experienced before. • The tech throughout the room felt fresh and exciting, making the puzzles feel modern and engaging. • There were a couple of unexpected, clever twists that genuinely surprised us and added a big dose of fun to the experience. What could be improved: • Some of the on‑screen instructions disappeared a little too quickly, which made a few moments more confusing than they needed to be. General thoughts: This room is perfect for 2–3 players — enough to share ideas without anyone feeling left out. With more people, there just wouldn’t be enough for everyone to get hands-on. Overall, we absolutely loved the room. A great experience from start to finish, and we’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, techy escape adventure in Taffs Well.
