Carnival of Chaos - Closing Nov 1Howl-O-ScreamHauntScare zoneI didn’t see a single live scare actor here while I was here waiting for the event to start. Perhaps they added more later in the evening?
Deadly Toys - Closing Nov 1Howl-O-ScreamHauntScare zoneA great idea, but calling this a “scare zone” is inaccurate. They had a really cool creepy doll display set up along the side of the walkway and two actors who stood there and did nothing to interact with you. That was it.
Terrors of the Deep - CLOSEDHowl-O-ScreamHauntScare zoneThey had some very cool actors walking around in old fashioned dive suits, although they weren’t doing anything to scare you. Just walking around to add to the atmosphere. I thought this was a really neat and unique idea for a haunted scare zone theme. One I haven’t seen elsewhere.
Red Moon Revelry - Closing Nov 1Howl-O-ScreamHauntScare zoneNot much to this area, although we did have an actor stop us to interact with him, which was fun.
Ripper Row - Closing Nov 1Howl-O-ScreamHauntScare zoneI didn’t see any actors or any decorations in this scare zone.
All Hallow's Harvest - Closing Nov 1Howl-O-ScreamHauntScare zoneNot much to this scare zone. Didn’t see any actors. Just modest decorations.
Ghost Town Streets - Closing Nov 1Knott’s Scary FarmHauntScare zoneThis is by far the best of all the scare zones this year. With the lighting and fog creating the creepy atmosphere you are hesitant to walk through, the scare actors make it full of jump scares when they surprise you.
The Gore-ing '20s - Closing Nov 1Knott’s Scary FarmHauntScare zoneLove this unique and distinctive theme. It’s fun if you go by at the right time to see them swing dancing and doing their performance.
CarnEvil - Closing Nov 1Knott’s Scary FarmHauntScare zoneA good idea to exploit people’s fears of clowns and creepy carnivals. I didn’t see many scare actors over here, but maybe it will be better later in the season?
The Gauntlet - Closing Nov 1Knott’s Scary FarmHauntScare zoneSome cool displays set up, but I never see many actors back here. They need to have more actors there to scare people to make this something you could actually call a “scare zone,” rather than just a walkway between different areas of the park.
Forsaken Lake - Closing Nov 1Knott’s Scary FarmHauntScare zoneThis scare zone is a missed opportunity. Not memorable in any way.
Shipwreck Cove - CLOSEDCastle DarkHauntScare zoneIf you’ve been to higher production mazes like at Knott’s Scary Farm or Universal Studios’ Hollywood Horror Nights then this will leave much to be desired. It’s a good attempt, just clearly not as high of a budget as the others. Might be good for young kids who enjoy spooky/scary stuff, but will not impress adults.
