Nikola Tesla - The Last ExperimentMystic Escape Room - DenverEscape roomIRLWe had a larger group (8) for this one and it felt like too many. The theme and styling were great. Parts of the decor and props are starting to show their age, getting a bit worn. We accidentally skipped a puzzle because we were able to access a key in an unintended way due to insecure set dressing. The game master had to tell us not to use the door that opened yet, which was very awkward. Overall we had fun. I can see why this is one of the highest rated escape room places in the area. Wish we had time to do others.
Wizard’s AlleyEscapeWorks Denver - BallparkEscape roomIRLThe theme was great, and the sets and props were excellent. Almost everything worked, except one solution we had to attempt twice because it didn’t seem to detect what we did properly. The real issue we had was the large amount of unused set decoration and red herrings. It seems the difficulty only comes from figuring out what you can ignore. There are some very cool things that could be used in a puzzle, but weren’t. That left us disappointed overall.
The CabinEscape Room LeavenworthEscape roomIRLA decent low-tech escape room. We were a little disappointed that there didn’t seem to be anything that hinted at how to do a particular step of one of the puzzles. We figured it out anyway just by trying some common puzzle solving techniques, but it felt like we either missed something or just something was missing in the design.
ZeppelinConundroom - Avalon ParcsquareEscape roomIRLWe liked the decor and theme, and it made for a fun experience. However, there were times where it was not clear what unlocked or turned on when we solved a puzzle. The room is pretty linear, and felt a little clunky. We love Conundroom but this was our least favorite of them all.
