    This was a very cool room! The set design and atmosphere felt straight out of Disney, and was definitely the strongest point of the room. The puzzles were great as well; though, an over reliance on a certain puzzle type bothered me a little, especially cuz it is not my kind of puzzle. The room was very linear, with one puzzle clearly being lit up and ready to use at a time, and there was a good bit of down time, as most of the puzzles were solo puzzles, not group puzzles. I did find some of the puzzles to be very inventive and unique, with some being clever new twists on puzzles I’ve seen before. One of the puzzles though is one of my all time favorites in all the rooms I’ve done, it was just so fun. I highly recommend this room, though, watch for player size and linearity and the fact it’s not really “one and done” like many other rooms, which they did not tell us beforehand. Can’t wait to see Trivium’s next game.

    Hope End is a phenomenal game and deserves all of the praise it gets, the actors do a phenomenal job bringing you into the story from the second you knock on the front door, and do not let you drop out of this story until the experience is completely over! The set design of the game was wonderful, and there were a lot of clever puzzles here. We played with 3 which is unusual for this game, as they really want you to have 4+ but they made some modifications for us which was nice. I see why they want you to have four though, there are quite a few puzzles, and some of them are pretty involved. There’s nothing I can say about the game that hasn’t already been said by hundreds of people. Go play this!

    This was absolutely my favorite of Escape Ventures rooms (second place was neighborhood watcher, followed by granny’s blackmail, then outage then bros for life) the set design, puzzles, interaction with the live actor, everything was absolutely perfect. Set design was spot on, and there were so many rooms, it just kept going and it was so so good. Basically all of the puzzles were simple and intuitive yet fantastic and fun. The live actor did a fantastic job, he was hilarious, and so much fun to interact with. The actor isn’t scary, don’t worry. I highly highly recommend this game to everyone. P.S. shoutout to Lawrence for the fantastic work!

    Wow wow wow, this room was something else. There’s basically 26 puzzles available almost immediately…which is overwhelming but eventually you get in the groove and it’s not too bad. Basically, you are trying to cool recipes by finding the symbol of the recipe and solving a puzzle associated with it to get ingredients needed, then find those ingredients, input them on the food making IPad and Boom! One food item done, rinse repeat 26 times, and it is genuinely so much fun. The room is completely non linear, and while technically not an “escape room” with no hidden room or whatever, the puzzles, the set design, everything was absolutely on point. It is a frantic mess and I loved it. We played with 3 enthusiasts and completed 17/26 recipes in the allotted 75 minutes, and would happily go back and do it with more people just to do more recipes. Go play this room!

    40 thieves is one of the highest rated games in all of SoCal, and it earns that spot. This was my 200th game, and it was a phenomenal game for that. The effects in this game, the intro “cutscene,” the interactions with the shop-keeps, just everything about this room was phenomenally well done. If you are in SoCal, it is worth a trip to Temecula to do this game, and while you’re down there do Mindtrap’s other games, they’re all hits as well.

    This was a really fun room from start to finish, the theatrics of this room, the set, everything, it is seriously Disney level. We found the puzzles in the room to be slightly unintuitive, but again, I mean, the theatrics of this room alone are worth a play, it really is spectacular to behold. Few games are as immersive as this one.

    Off the Couch is a very very unique company, not only are their rooms all really well done, interconnected, and beautiful, but they feel refreshing. They don’t all just feel like escape rooms, the set, the complete absence of traditional locks, the technological implementation, everything makes them feel like more than just an escape room. This could be a detriment to some people who may prefer the more standard escape room experience but I personally loved it. The set of this room actually feels like you’re in an apartment, not just a living room or a bedroom, a full blown apartment, and is very well done. The room is theatrical, including the fairly brief interactions with a live actor don’t worry, he’s mostly friendly. This place also does bookings very differently…you book a set amount of time and then if you don’t use it all they refund it to you in the form of credits or cash back, which is really cool. TLDR: OTC is a fantastic hidden gem, great sets, good puzzles, very theatrical, just awesome, go play all their rooms.

    This was by far my favorite of OTC’s games. Even with this being the soft opening of the room, it was very very well done; and it’s clear the owner is very passionate about this project. The set design was amazing. The story, was a super unique twist on the usual creepy morgue theming, which helped tie all of the puzzles in and keep the room “dark” yet fun. The room is nonlinear and it’s tough. We’re 3 enthusiasts and it took us 105 mins, the average is about 120, but we definitely struggled in some parts. With that being said; a lot of puzzles were very clever and the mini games requiring group members to split up from the pack was very cool. All in all, I very highly recommend this room, especially if you’re not opposed to getting scared.
