La Rébellion
The Cipher Room St Peters
Escape room
IRL
Completed this room in a group of 4. Really enjoyed this room, the gameplay was immersive and the puzzles flowed well. There were a lot of really creative and unique puzzles, and fun mechanisms. One of the best rooms I’ve done, would highly recommend!
The Marlowe Hotel
The Cipher Room Newtown
Escape room
IRL
Completed with a group of 4. Love the theme and the black and white clothing suggestion to fit the theme. It had a lot of creative and interesting puzzles that are unique to this room. The gameplay was immersive and flowed well. One of the top escape rooms I’ve done, would definitely recommend!
The Cabin
The Cipher Room Newtown
Escape room
IRL
Completed with a group of 4. Not as scary as I feared, but had a “serial killer” vibe to set the scene. It was a good room with a lot of creative puzzles, though some were similar to other Cipher room puzzles, and since we had done some of the other rooms already, it wasn’t as novel. Still a great room nonetheless and thoroughly enjoyable.
End of the Road
Next Level Escape
Escape room
IRL
Completed End of the Road with 2 people and finished in just under an hour (with a time limit of 75 mins). This was such a fantastic experience, can’t recommend enough; I would say it’s one of my top 3 escape room experiences. It was very immersive, the GM was an excellent in-character narrator and it was such an enjoyable and humorous experience. The puzzles were unique with a mix of different puzzles. The gameplay flowed very well and although it was multilinear, all the puzzles made sense. We enjoyed this room immensely and would highly recommend it! 10/10!!
Espionage
The Cipher Room Newtown
Escape room
IRL
Completed this room with 4 people. It was an immersive room with a lot of creative puzzles that incorporated a lot of different elements around the room. A lot of unique puzzles I had never seen before. I would recommend having 3 or 4 people at least as there are a lot of things to look at and explore around the room. Really enjoyed it and would highly recommend this room and any of the Cipher Room escape rooms!
The Hotel
Riddle Room Canberra
Escape room
IRL
We completed The Hotel as a group of 4. It was a very immersive experience and the set design was beautiful. It was a little scary but not as bad as I feared. There were no padlocks or number locks to be seen and it had some really unique and creative puzzles. Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend!
The Vault
Escape Rooms Canberra
Escape room
IRL
Completed The Vault with 4 people. It had some really creative puzzles that I hadn’t seen before elsewhere. The space was a little cramped at times as the rooms weren’t that big but it had a good range of puzzles - there were only a few number locks and the others were more high tech. Would definitely recommend!
Curio
Escape Rooms Canberra
Escape room
IRL
We completed the Curio with 4 people. It was a very magical room with a lot of fun mechanisms and unique puzzles, especially one near the end which was a surprise. The rooms themselves were a little small so sometimes felt a bit cramped when exploring, but that didn’t detract from the experience of solving the puzzles. Overall great room and would definitely recommend!
Ex Libris
Next Level Escape
Escape room
IRL
Completed this room with 2 people. Love love love this room! It has one main escape with 2 optional puzzles, so no matter how many people you go with there’s definitely enough to do. It’s a longer escape room (70 mins), so once you do the main escape you have the rest of the time to try and solve the 2 optional puzzles. As we only had two people we were only able to complete one of the optional ones, but the GM Nicki was nice enough to lead us through the other optional puzzle and try bits and pieces of it so we could at least see how it worked. I loved the theme of this room and the fact that it has multiple themes. This was also my first room at Next Level and I really enjoyed the narration (that all the rooms have) - the GM was with us as the narrator every step of the way, and made it such a hilarious and unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!!
The Mine
Riddle Room Canberra
Escape room
IRL
Completed The Mine as a group of 4. This is their newest room and it was very immersive. The set design was beautiful and it had a mix of number locks and mechanisms. There were some really interesting puzzles that I had never seen before and I really enjoyed it. There were a few moments that were a little spooky but not too scary overall. The gameplay flowed very well and everything made sense. Would recommend!
