The Battle for BritainEscape PlanEscape roomIRLOne of the top three rooms we've ever done. (And that still stands after another 40 something rooms since completing it.) A lot of puzzles that all come together in such a clever way. A super fun room with lots to do. Our GM David was also our favourite Games Master we've ever had. A true delight. His enthusiasm for escape rooms shined through.
Le Cinéma de M. Trippolyte [Mr Trippolyte's Cinema]Grand Trip Trap HotelEscape roomIRLThe set design is top notch. We felt a little lost initially upon first entering the space, but there are a lot of really fun puzzles and genuine surprises. While not our favourite overall experience the best moments in the room really do capture a sense of childhood adventure.
Classified: Operation Nine LivesEscape Artist Greenville - DowntownEscape roomIRLSuch an ingenious way to make a smaller space seem much larger. I continue to marvel TO THIS DAY about how well the game progresses. It's a very fun, active room. Be warned though: if you do not care for mannequins or the like, you may get creeped out in the way one of our team were upon entering the room. Nothing scary happens and it's not being deliberately creepy, but if that's the sort of thing you've got a bit of a phobia about this is a little heads up.
Le Testament de l'Antiquaire [The Antiquary’s Testament]Trip Trap BazarEscape roomIRLWe went in not knowing anything and were surprised at every turn. The game was spookier than we were expecting it to be but this was one of the best times we've had in an escape room. Completely immersive and novel. Even the way hints were offered was unlike anywhere else.
Defenders of the Sunken RealmThe Keepers of BalanceEscape roomIRLThe set design is incredible, truly top notch; the puzzles though left a little to be desired. It's strange to feel disappointment about a game that looks better than 99% of rooms we've stepped into but the great aesthetics I think unfortunately only highlight the areas where the experience doesn't succeed, rather than mask them. This is also a quibble but very early in the game you've got to complete a simple puzzle with an actor and they were pretty quick to prompt us to the right solution and when that happens it always feels like "are we playing the game? or do you want to just do it all?", which I imagine is a tough emotion to manage from team to team as everybody has different wants in moments like that.
Yacht HeistTotal EscapeEscape roomIRLLoved, loved, loved this game. It's so much fun. Have since played all of the games at Total Escape and they are all top notch but this remains at the top of the top notch. A blast of a treasure hunt.
Pushed for TimeEscape PlanEscape roomIRLThe core idea at the centre of Push for Time is a step above what most escape rooms are attempting. This is a challenging room with interesting, fun mechanics. The set design was really nice. We also love the staff at Escape Plan; always warm, welcoming and personable.
Operation BlacksheepclueQuestEscape roomIRLLoved this room. Great variety of puzzles, including some hands on and high tech ones that we really enjoyed. This is our favourite room at ClueQuest. Throughout the game you travel through different spaces, giving the room a nice flow. A lot of fun. A top tier escape room experience.
Eternal LifeTempo Escape RoomEscape roomIRLGM was lovely and set a quirky off-kilter vibe from the moment you arrive. The room itself doesn't quite match-up with the premise or the introduction. It's a series of mostly unrelated puzzles but those mostly unrelated puzzles are varied, challenging and fun to complete.
Bayou BoathouseFox-n-Otter Adventure Escapes Hendersonville LocationEscape roomIRLSuch a fun and different theme. We chose the game because the setting stood out and it was so wonderfully left-of-centre. The gator, the boat, the dock, it was all a lot of fun. Our first Fox n Otter experience and we had such a great time we drove straight to another one of their locations that same day. Ryan, our game master, was fantastic.
