The Battle for BritainEscape PlanEscape roomIRLOne of the top three rooms we've ever done. (And that still stands after another 40 something rooms since completing it.) A lot of puzzles that all come together in such a clever way. A super fun room with lots to do. Our GM David was also our favourite Games Master we've ever had. A true delight. His enthusiasm for escape rooms shined through.
Pushed for TimeEscape PlanEscape roomIRLThe core idea at the centre of Push for Time is a step above what most escape rooms are attempting. This is a challenging room with interesting, fun mechanics. The set design was really nice. We also love the staff at Escape Plan; always warm, welcoming and personable.
Operation BlacksheepclueQuestEscape roomIRLLoved this room. Great variety of puzzles, including some hands on and high tech ones that we really enjoyed. This is our favourite room at ClueQuest. Throughout the game you travel through different spaces, giving the room a nice flow. A lot of fun. A top tier escape room experience.
Eternal LifeTempo Escape RoomEscape roomIRLGM was lovely and set a quirky off-kilter vibe from the moment you arrive. The room itself doesn't quite match-up with the premise or the introduction. It's a series of mostly unrelated puzzles but those mostly unrelated puzzles are varied, challenging and fun to complete.
PLAN52clueQuestEscape roomIRLWonderfully designed and packed with puzzles. Is very lock-heavy but those locks come in all sorts of updated types. They've modernised the unlocking of the lock experience. Padlocks are a thing of the past in this room, and big fat satisfying keypads are the future. A joy of a room.
Revenge of the SheepclueQuestEscape roomIRLSurprisingly unsatisfying experience. The tech is impressive but at some point it does just become a pile of puzzles in a room. The effort clueQuest goes to in creating original stories is always appreciated, rather than having to see something like 'Wild West Again', but this room didn't capture our sense of fun in the way Operation Blacksheep did.
The Deacon's CabinetEscape The PastEscape roomIRLA single room filled with a ton of puzzles but what a room. The space is very Edinburgh and really adds to the atmosphere. The titular cabinet is also a fun contraption. We ended up having a somewhat frustrating experience with the room - but also we didn't escape - so those two things are probably linked.
Aladdin & The Magic VaultEscape Hunt - London Oxford StreetEscape roomIRLFun enough. Perfectly fine theme and a perfectly fine variety of puzzles. A somewhat unsatisfying experience that put me off trying more Escape Hunt rooms for a while and sent me on a journey to discover more interesting Escape Room experiences (for which I will forever grateful).
The Fourth SamuraiEscape Hunt UK - BristolEscape roomIRLA good room for first-timers. (Which I say because this was my first room and it got me hooked on escape rooms). A fun theme and theme-adjacent puzzles. Having now done a couple more Escape Hunt games (at different locations) this is still my favourite room of theirs.
Mayan TempleEscape London - WhitechapelEscape roomIRLThere is more going on outside of the room to capture the 'Mayan Temple' vibe than there is inside. It's a small room filled with a lot of puzzles situation and the those puzzles are, of course, thematically unlinked. The staff were very nice, and the room is nice enough, but at this price point there are better places to spend those same pounds within the city limits.
