Rocky Point ParkRI Riddle RoomEscape roomIRLI LOVED this room! There’s was such an amazing mix of kinda of puzzles and it felt like wow moment after wow moment the whole time. Every time I thought we were done there was another room with more surprising and exciting. Tons to do at all times. It was above and beyond what I was expecting. This is what I hope for when I do homemade rooms.

The bonus puzzle format was exciting and worked very well for our group. I don’t know much about video games, but there were still plenty of references I enjoyed and the room is quite delightful regardless of your knowledge of games. A fantastic combination of kinds of games and puzzles.

Jurassic Outpost60 to Escape - SchaumburgEscape roomIRLGreat room! Fun theming, difficult but satisfying puzzles. We had about 10 minutes to spare as a team of 2 with a lot of experience. Really fun “wow” moment at the end! Not a super big space physically so I’d recommend a smaller group for that reason.

Save The QueenAdventures of IntrigueEscape roomIRLThis game was cute and fun. We had a lovely time. I will say my feeling was that the whole place is geared more toward kids. We enjoyed the game, and some of the puzzles were interesting, but the drawback of the integrated games is intensive signposting/clearly defined puzzles on sheets of paper. We enjoyed getting to walks around and see the whole space and left curious about the other games. The staff were incredibly kind and clearly loved immersing guests in the adventures.
Hidden Temple60 to Escape - GurneeEscape roomIRLReally loved this room! Felt like legends of the hidden temple! The only thing I’d say is I do think it would be scary for young children or very easily scared people. Not scary really, but you are exploring a haunted tomb.

Nothing scary happens in the room (other than the lights going out) but there is a scary theme and some startling sound effects/dramatic music. We are easily spooked so like to share with others who are too!

We ran into frustration with some puzzles that really didn’t work well (worn down/lighting made it nearly impossible to see) and we’re disappointed that our GM didn’t help more in navigating those challenges (had to ask for about 5 hints on an unreadably dim puzzle with us climbing all over to try and see the lettering). If those few puzzles were fixed a bit, or even just more GM support on them would have made the room feel a lot smoother. The other pieces were interesting and fun, and the set design was quite cool!

I wouldn’t recommend more than that though- the space isn’t too big. The puzzles were cool and some novel to me. We enjoyed it and it felt extremely well-paced

The Exit Games]Escape roomIRLWhile we enjoyed many aspects of this room, our game master ignored multiple requests to adapt the room to meet physical and emotional needs of our group. Including requests of how much time was left and one player requesting to leave the experience because they were too scared. These things made the experience much less enjoyable. The room could have been great if we had the sense that we were safe and could leave if needed, but instead we left feeling stressed and overwhelmed. The room IS scary, so please take caution if you are easily frightened.
