CurioEscapologic - NottinghamEscape roomIRLMy friend and I were excited to play Curio after hearing so many positive things about it. We had managed to figure out what the main gimmick of the room was before arriving but even knowing this we were still impressed! It's very cool to experience. This room also managed to make us feel particularly smart at points. I was a little worried about not finishing in time with 2 people, especially after hearing about Curio's difficulty. However the puzzles did click for us and (minus a few silly errors where we did not notice small details) we absolutely smashed it in 47 mins! Thanks to Ella who was a lovely host! Everything was perfectly triggered and explained, especially considering the room's complexity. She was also super friendly and great to talk to after :D
Chocolate FactoryBreak Escape Nottingham - Market StreetEscape roomIRLMy friend and I booked this room as a little bonus extra at the end of our Nottingham escape room trip and I'm so glad we did!! The puzzles in this room were tactile, creative and just so much fun! The flow of the room was also great with fun surprises hidden everywhere. There were multiple moments that made me so happy and we were both smiling throughout. We also enjoyed collecting the bonus chocolate managing to get 910g with two players (it was hidden literally everywhere!). The puzzles in the room also felt like the perfect level of difficulty; not too hard or too easy! Also massive thanks to our GM Billy, who's vibes were incredible. Clues were given exactly when we needed them and my friend and I both loved our little natter with them once the game was over!! Thank you again to Billy for a wonderful hour!! <3 If you find yourself in Nottingham please go check out this room!!
HowitzEscapologic - NottinghamEscape roomIRLWe chose to play Howitz as my friend and I both love spooky-camp vibes. This room certainly delivered! The set design was incredible and filled with loads of creepy things to look at (I do admit I wanted to take some of the toys home with me!). We were also both impressed with the story which had been well thought out and integrated in the room. Unfortunately we did find ourselves disappointed with the puzzles. Most were quite observation heavy (looking and finding things) which is not really our style. If you do enjoy this however you will love this room! Thank you to our games master Toby who was attentive and friendly throughout! Clues were well timed and everything was triggered at the right time. Also he managed to make me jump at the end which is always appreciated in a horror room! <3
Dream EscapeBreak Escape Nottingham - Upper Parliament Street [prev. Cryptology]Escape roomIRLWe really enjoyed Dream Escape and our time at Break Escape. The structure of the room was something we hadn't experienced before and kept us engaged and on our toes throughout! With 2 more experienced players we managed to get 18/20 dream keys. Also shout out to our wonderful games master Oleg!! He gave us clues exactly when we needed them and was lovely to talk to before and after the game was finished :D He also gave us some more room recommendations for our Nottingham trip which was greatly appreciated. We took this onboard and played Choco-late at Break Escape on a different day, which we also loved and wouldn't have chosen otherwise; thank you Oleg!! <3
