The Other Side

Fox in a Box Hong Kong

Escape room
IRL

Fans of Stranger Things will enjoy this one! Gameplay was smooth and the room design really set the tone for what to expect. Puzzles needed to be completed one by one in order to progress onto the next stage, which provided clarity on what needed to be done. While not scary per se, some players may find some elements quite spooky. We played with a group of 4, but wouldn't recommend any more than that.

One of Fox in a Box Hong Kong's newer offerings, it's clear that a lot of thought went into this room. Although we did enjoy ourselves, we found our attention pulled in many directions at once, making it difficult to dicipher which puzzles needed to be completed first in order to progress in the story.

A fun room with a good variety of puzzles, although we wasted quite a bit of time with a few red herrings.

We played this room with 7 people and it was hilarious—we had a lot of fun trying to figure out all of the puzzles. You will need a pretty decent knowledge of written Chinese for this room. We ended up using the 3 hints given (you are given tokens and the GM comes into the room when you need help, and then takes a token before they leave), but felt it was worth it in the end.

Had fun at this one! They incorporated some gameplay elements not found in the other rooms at this location, which gave it a sense of newness. The puzzles aren’t terribly difficult, but the one downside is that this room is on the 3rd floor… requiring players to walk up some pretty steep steps to get there 😂

Great concept, solid execution. If you’re worried about the theme, we found it a bit eerie but not scary. Puzzles were well thought-out, although there was one element that gave us some issues (Was it faulty? Was it set up incorrectly? Was there user error? Still not entirely sure what happened.)

This was a great way to explore Hong Kong Park! The challenges brought us to different areas and exhibits that we may not have gone into if we were just walking around. It took about an hour in total, but could have easily gone on longer if we spent more time exploring the exhibits after finishing each puzzle.

This was absolutely hilarious and so much fun! Stumbled a little getting started at the beginning, but we were able to figure out the puzzles in the end. Went as a group of 3, which worked out perfectly. The room was pretty puzzle-heavy, with a few things I hadn’t seen before. Lighting is generally very dim in the room, which made it difficult to see some clues. Staff were great from the get-go.

Overall, we enjoyed ourselves… however, and this may be an issue with LOST on a whole, some of the puzzles felt very abstract and we could not figure out what they were trying to ask us to solve. They were pretty lenient on the number of hints though, and we did manage to complete the room with a lot of assistance (and only slightly over the time limit 😂)

A little bit spooky, but overall an enjoyable experience. We got a bit stuck towards the end and had to ask for some hints (which ended up being things that we had already done), but made it out with a little trial and error 😂

We had such a great time! GM Aaron really made the whole experience fun, and we thoroughly enjoyed the puns and perfectly timed sound effects. Visited with a group of 4 and had no trouble escaping (including the 2 bonus puzzles), with plenty of time to spare.
