Exit StrategyLocked ManhattanEscape roomIRLI unfortunately might not recommend this room. I attempted this with a group of 5 and we did not come all that close to escaping. I found this frustrating for a room rated as a 3/5 difficulty, but maybe this just wasn’t our day and others find the room more achievable. We had one puzzle that did not work for us (we had the right idea, but the game master had to come in and do it herself to get it to work), and another that just ran on for so long. Between the two, we lost most of our time. I also unfortunately did not understand the solutions to a few things and we ended up reverse-engineering some puzzles to make the answer fit our options rather than understanding how to get there. I think I could have understood with more time, but, again, not our day. This room being tech puzzles rather than traditional locks and keys was cool if that’s a type of room you’re looking for. Our game master was also nice. In hindsight, I would have tried asking the game master if they were willing to proactively help us if we were falling behind on time and that may have improved our experience.
Book Of SecretsTwin Falls Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLGood room! Theming and puzzles were well put together and everything worked properly. Some of the puzzles were novel and a mix of key locks, combination locks, and higher-tech stuff. Did this as a group of 8 (a large group size for any escape room in my experience), and while we weren’t all always occupied by a puzzle, the room decor/theming kept those not actively solving something entertained for the majority of the time. Would recommend!
Tomb of the PharaohsLabyrinth Escape Games - BoiseEscape roomIRLThis room is incredibly well themed and immersive. The puzzles themselves are a combination of mostly high tech and a couple traditional combination lock. Did this as a group of two and found the room to flow well and all puzzles to be logical. The decor of Labyrinth’s waiting room is also well put together and you’re instantly immersed in another world the moment you walk through the door.
Ghost Bride: Chapter 2Deleta Skating & Family Fun CenterEscape roomIRLLoved this room! Things were well themed and the atmosphere was absolutely creepy. The puzzles were a mix of tech and lock and key, and I think everything was logical and flowed well. I completed this in a group of 7, we didn’t find it too physically cramped, and I think there was enough going on for everyone to remain engaged. This room has me excited to go back to try the other rooms at Deleta!
Haunted MansionThe Derby Club - LanesEscape roomIRLThis room was full of high tech puzzles, not your traditional locks and keys. The theming was immersive and the sound system and lighting really sealed the deal to sell the spooky vibe. We did this room as a pair of 2 (both with prior escape room experience) and found it difficult. We needed several hints and remain a tad confused about the why behind some of the solutions. Things felt modern and overall we had a good time even as we struggled through the game.
Back To NowAll Points West - Laramie's Laser Tag Family Fun CenterEscape roomIRLOverall a nice solid escape room. A two hour room is unique and there was enough to do to fill the time (at least for my group of just two players with some prior escape room experience). We remain a little confused on a couple of the puzzle solutions even after we got hints for them, but the majority of puzzles we found fair and felt like things flowed well. The theming was fun, and our game master was nice.
Mob Boss Break-inRexburg Re-EscapeEscape roomIRLThe room was good in that we thought the puzzles mostly made sense and flowed well. The theming wasn’t the most immersive and the puzzles were standard locks and keys, which I don’t mind, but don’t expect anything high tech. Our game master Megan was nice. The website recommends 4 players for the room, but we did it with just 2 (that have some escape room experience) and didn’t find ourselves wishing we had more help.
