The RipperEnter The Enigma [prev. Aha! Escape Rooms]Escape roomIRLThe ambiance was wonderful. If you are old like me and have over 40 eyes it was probably too dark. I did have to use my cellphone flashlight a few times to even have a chance. Gamemaster was good, we talked about when to nudge so we weren’t frustrated unnecessarily. I would recommend highly and would put this room in my top 10 list.
Special Ops: Mysterious MarketThe Escape Game - Kansas CityEscape roomIRLPuzzles were good and made sense. Plenty for 3 people to work on without waiting around. Not necessarily a linear room, which I prefer non-linear rooms in general. Some unique puzzles I hadn’t seen before. Well done set and decor, quality products.
The DepthsThe Escape Game - Kansas CityEscape roomIRLThis room may have been too easy. The puzzles weren’t hard to figure out, in fact they may have made too much sense as the solving part went too fast. Maybe more subtle puzzles instead of the obvious in your face solutions. This room may need more puzzles. It has a fun element at the end, but it’s not really an escape room element. Over all good but not great.
Omega Mart [Immersive Art]Meow WolfEscape roomOther Loved Omega Mart. It’s not an escape room per se but if you use the cards there is a solving element to what happened there. It was awesome. Takes a lot of time and has a good story.
The Sacred Lotus21 Keys Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThe atmosphere was great. Enjoyed that it was non linear so everybody was kept busy. Some puzzle elements were very unique. Never really got stuck on any one puzzle they were all figure-outable. Gamemaster did well keeping us on pace, just about perfect with nudges so we could see every puzzle. Glad we got to play it on the last day before the room is closed.
S.A.S.H.A: Home Of The FutureWild Goose Escapes - FullertonEscape roomIRLThe room seems well done. Non-linear is always a nice change of pace from typical rooms. Puzzles were not too difficult to solve, and I only found one that I thought required some sort of mental gymnastics to piece together. Customer service was lacking, the game master was unable to give us clues for about 5-7 minutes which affected the end of our game while we waited. No consolidation or apologies offered for their technical problem. Not sure I can go back for their other rooms as the situation sullied my experience.
Flight of Deception: The Royal TakeoverCodebusters Escape RoomEscape roomIRLI really wanted to like this room. The set in the main room was interesting and novel, but the gameplay was hard to follow. I thought the puzzles did not make sense and you had to take some pretty big logical jumps to know how to solve them. It felt like they had two separate ideas and tried to put them together. After the game we asked for clarification of the puzzle and that took too many tries to understand even when we had somebody explaining it to you. Overall just didn’t make sense and would not recommend unless you’re just trying to do all the rooms in the area.
Duel at DuskNew Mexico Escape Room - McLeod LocationEscape roomIRLThe room atmosphere was good, the puzzles were in line with the theme. The tech involved did not seem out of place with the era of a Wild West saloon. Room was fun to do without being excessively difficult.
The PrisonFox in a Box ChicagoEscape roomIRLI don’t know how this place received a TERPECA nomination. The person answering the phone wasn’t the same person at the location. They told us to wait on the main floor and the game master would come get you. We waited 20 minutes and nobody came. After 20 minutes I called again and they sent the instructions to the door. When we arrived the game master had no idea we were coming. They had to reset the room while we were waiting some more. The room did not flow well. The puzzles didn’t seem to have flow and we were guessing at things to get items to open. I would not recommend this room at all to anyone.
Beasley's BillionsTick Tock Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLGood room. Good continuity of puzzles. Group of 4 with no problems.
