La Cerveseria [The Brewery]EnigmikEscape roomIRLWe enjoyed the experience overall, though the first main puzzle was fairly tedious and other puzzles were not super well cued. We also got frustrated by some elements that were available early on but not used until much later. But with all that said it was still a fun experience and there were some puzzles/activities that were novel and fun. We enjoyed the tactile elements and the personalized tech was also cool. The set was also very impressive.
La Peluquería [The Hairdressing]The X-Door ValenciaEscape roomIRLWow, what a memorable experience! The actor/GM was amazing and the story line was even sillier than we expected. So many twists and turns with unexpected things we had to accomplish. We did Mr Miyagi the day before and really enjoyed the puzzles in that one. The puzzles here were slightly less interesting but the high adrenaline aspect more than made up for it. This is our new favorite!
La Tienda de Te dell Sr MiyagiDon EscapeEscape roomIRLWe had such an amazing time with Mr Miyagi! The set was amazing and immersive, and there were so many varied types of puzzles. Definitely a stand out experience.
Mission Secrète [Secret Mission]The Game - Saint MichelEscape roomIRLIncredibly immersive and exciting. We brought newbie friends with us and they were blown away. Two pre-teens thought it was a little too intense, though they said afterward that it was fun.
Threads of FatePostCuriousEscape roomTabletopWe were really excited to complete this one, after loving Emerald Flame. However, the massive reliance on websites, including some tedious tasks that required us to keep logging in to user profiles, really dampened the enjoyment, such that the middle envelopes felt like a real slog. We enjoyed the last envelope, but had waited months to do it because of how miserable the middle of the experience was.
Cosmic CrisisThe Escape Game - AustinEscape roomIRLThe theming is super immersive and the puzzles flowed really well. Lots of teamwork is needed to get things done. We had a great time.
PlaygroundThe Escape Game - AustinEscape roomIRLIt was so fun! We had 5 people and it was the optimal number. Our GM, Anderson, was amazing! We were celebrating a birthday and graduation and while we finished, Anderson made us cards! The playground was a bit different than the pictures, but we still enjoyed it.
Castle FlüffendorEscape Artist Greenville - Hampton StationEscape roomIRLWe had such a fun time with this room! It was so unique and the puzzles flowed super well. Absolutely a delightful experience with so many surprises.
Hijacked on the Holiday ExpressEscape Hour AustinEscape roomIRLWe really enjoyed the theme of this room - it was great to get into the Christmas spirit. The puzzles were not too difficult, though sometimes the signposting was vague or the instructions were ambiguous. There were a lot of combo locks, but we also enjoyed the unique high tech elements.
The Sherlock HomeSolve The Sherlock HomeEscape roomOther We loved the house with all the wonderful scenery and puzzles. Although the beginning was a bit slow, things really picked up and got exciting in the second half. There was a lot of searching and we had to use some clues but we had a lot of fun.
Experiencia Amarilla [Yellow Experience]Colors Escape Room by ExperiencityEscape roomIRLWow, this is a jaw-dropping set! We continued to be amazed throughout. And the way you interact with the GM is super fun and clever. To be honest, there were some flow problems for us - one puzzle was incomplete and we were trying to do it and told to move on because we didn’t need to do it (but it looked fun so we wanted to!), and at other times we found something and then were told that we couldn’t use it yet until we did something else first. However, those things didn’t bother us too much because the overall experience is so incredibly impressive.
Ratas de Biblioteca [Bookworms]Action HouseEscape roomIRLThis was a great, fully immersive experience with high tech puzzles that were not too difficult. The set starts the moment you enter the door and is really ornate. The GM was great, and accommodated us in English. To be honest, the various components of the story did not totally make sense to us, but it may have been due to language (?) and didn’t dampen our enjoyment.
Locutorio Sergey [Sergey Call Shop]Locutorio SergeyEscape roomIRLThis was absolutely the most fun we have had in an escape room. They won an award for best actor and it is clearly well deserved. The actor makes the experience super fun. The set is also incredible and the story and puzzles flow super well, but the experience of interacting with the actor just put it over the top to be so incredibly immersive.
Prison Island [Interactive Arcade]Prison IslandEscape roomOther This is not an escape room, but is a collection of 24 different rooms, each with a different challenge that has to be completed within a few minutes. We had fun, but the experience was different than I expected. Much more physical, and not really any puzzle solving.
Feira Popular [The Great Fair]Escape Hunt - LisbonEscape roomIRLThis was a fun and unique room, with some puzzles mixed with a lot of games and activities related to the fair theme. Our team includes a 9-year-old who thought this was super fun. The room decorations were ok, but not super immersive, and it would definitely feel tight with more than 3 people.
One Thousand & One Nights [prev. Aladdin]Game Over Escape Rooms - Santa ClaraEscape roomIRLOverall we really enjoyed this room, though the experience was a bit unbalanced, with some parts being super fun and interactive and other parts a bit confusing/boring. There were a few elements that were a bit frustrating because the props were very finicky and had to be completed in exactly the right manner and the GM had to tell us to do what we were doing, but in a slightly different way. But the major wow moments mostly made up for that. Super fun room for kids. The setting is extremely detailed and immersive.
La Ambición Del Brandy [The Ambition Of The Brandy]Una Vuelta De Tuerca - Escape Room JerezEscape roomIRLThis was really fun, I came out of the final door with a smile on my face. The set was really authentic, the puzzles were varied, and the theme was totally unique to Jerez.
Caín [Cain]The X-Door AlicanteEscape roomIRLWe had a really great time with this one. The puzzles were varied, the set was great, and there were a few particularly fun and surprising parts.
Exploradores en el Cairo [Explorers in Cairo]Coco Room GranadaEscape roomIRLThe GM was super nice and accommodated us in English. However, the room itself was honestly a total dump. They call it an “escape hall” instead of an escape room, but what it actually was was a tiny room with a big treasure chest and the chest was the only thing you interact with. Once you get it open it has 5 locked sections inside that you also have to open. That’s it. So it was the 3 of us just standing in front of this chest for 75 minutes. Plus all of the pieces inside the chest were extremely worn out so that it was hard to even put puzzles together, etc.
