Cabin CultStrange World Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLas my groups resident wuss, i’m always hesitant to play horror rooms but cabin cult has easily made my top 5 of all time. ts was camp as fuckkk. while i can’t deny that i found it scary, the humour made it way more digestible. if you don’t do well with scares you should still be able to make it through the game just fine (as long as you’re not offended by crude humour). the puzzles were sick! nothing was overly difficult and there was a nice variety. the set was awesome too. considering it’s a smaller venue, the space has been utilised really well. tanner was a wonderful gm/actor. he was really accommodating and was sweet enough to take us through easter eggs we missed after the game. the amount of dedication and passion that’s been put into this room really doesn’t go unnoticed. 100% worth playing.
SeanceThe Cool SpaceEscape roomIRLthis room is such a banger!!! despite being a single room game/sitting for the majority of the time the puzzles were varied and interesting, set was gorgeous but what i loved most was the sound and lighting design. oh MY GOD was it good. also amazing staff here too!! ts was spectacular i need 14 more rooms from these guys right now.
End of the RoadNext Level EscapeEscape roomIRLloved this one. puzzles were on the easier side but there were some really cool concepts used that kept things interesting. the GM’s at next level are always great but simon was dedicated and a half. his performance was 100% the standout of the room. s/o to u legend 🫡🫡
The CabinThe Cipher Room NewtownEscape roomIRLI LOVE A PERSONALISED PUZZLE!!! YAY CIPHER ROOM!!! just like any other room across the two venues, the set is great. while there’s no jumpscares inside, the atmosphere was creepy asf and the materials that were used inside work super well. puzzles flowed smoothly and nothing seemed that out of place. would probably consider it the best room at the newtown venue.
KidnappedUrban EscapadeEscape roomIRLi enjoyed kidnapped for sure. while some of the puzzles were a bit tough, there’s a good mix of mechanical stuff and padlocks. the set had some really gorgeous elements too.
TurbulenceUrban EscapadeEscape roomIRLbit on the fence with this one. the concept is unique, the effects used were cool and the set was great (if you look past the ai). what threw me off was the flow of the puzzles. particularly in the second half of the room, we were pretty stumped on how to proceed. i wanna give it the benefit of the doubt as it’s still a relatively new game, but i think some additional sign posting could really make a difference. regardless, i think this room has a lot of potential. excited to see what they come out with in the future.
Saknussemm's TrailScarborough Fair Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLthe crawl space made me feel like a hamster lowkey
PortalScarborough Fair Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLa solid room for larger groups who love to divide and conquer. theming was simple but still effective. the puzzles are pretty tough, and the signposting inside could be improved for a few parts, but i’d still class this as my favourite room that scarborough has to offer so far.
Zombie ApocalypseEscape This - Sydney CBDEscape roomIRLthe set is cool but the puzzles were pretty frustrating. for a few in particular it was less logic based and more like guessing games which left us ripping our hair out. while we (barely) finished on time i think i left with a few bald spots.
Assassin in the PubEscape Hunt - SydneyEscape roomIRLthis room felt super dull. the wear and tear inside is evident and the mechanics were pretty janky at times. i like the murder mystery aspect but the execution of it wasn’t great.
