Operation GryaznayavodaIn Search Of An ExitEscape roomIRLThe pre game experience set the tone for my entire time and my group has so much fun in the game. My sense of whimsy was tickled.
The AlchemistSherlockedEscape roomIRLThis game elevates the player experience with unique technology and stunning visual climaxes, in a way I have not seen in over 500 games.
AvalancheMaze Rooms - Robertson BlvdEscape roomIRLFun puzzles, with some clever and fun use of the set. However, the content feels a little light for 60 minutes and the storyline reads more like this game was designed as a demo showcase for a ER set company than a coherent plot. We still had a very fun 40 minutes. Also surprisingly, our host told us that there is no policy against photos and videos in the room now. You can get a free drink if you post on tiktok/IG.
The CursedExtreme Escape - Stone OakEscape roomIRLThe set for this room was lovely, and I appreciated the puzzle design. I had fun playing this game, but there were a few tiny things t'd warn other players about. Be aware that there is one puzzle that requires a light source, but no flashlight is provided. My GM said that I could have used my phone, but I wasn't informed of this during the briefing, so I handicapped myself by keeping my phone stowed away like you're normally supposed to. When I asked for a hint, i was just given a clue to the final solution. You'll know the puzzle when you see it. There is also another puzzle for which the clue is ambiguous, and I ended up asking for a hint on it, at which point they explained the method of entry in much greater detail. 3 visible padlocks are for game maintenance and the GM had to point them out in the pre-game briefing. They should just use red locks or stickers, per convention. There are a lot of other locks to keep track of!
CarnevilExtreme Escape - Stone OakEscape roomIRLA fun haunted circus room. The logic of the clues is sound, but the breadcrumbs could be better in a couple of places -- I was playing solo and took hints which were "right answer" "different way of using it" both times. The set looks great and the game elements are good.
The Other SideExtreme Escape - Stone OakEscape roomIRLNice enough game, with heavy referencing to Stranger Things. I played solo, took 2 hints, and finished in under 30 minutes. Game is linear but it is possible to enter some solutions out of order if the player is experienced enough.
Staked! A Vampire TaleTime Emporium - Fort CollinsEscape roomIRLFor a 30 minute experience, this game contained a lot of content! It's such a great idea to have a shorter game in a venue that provides food and drink and space for gathering. It is very well suited to a fun night out with friends. I can't believe how much fun I had in this game! I did not expect a vampire game to incorporate this much humor, from start to finish, I was having a great time!
Hotel HellenTime Emporium - Fort CollinsEscape roomIRLFor a 30 minute experience, this game contained a lot of content! It's such a great idea to have a shorter game in a venue that provides food and drink and space for gathering. It is very well suited to a fun night out with friends. Also, I am the biggest chicken, and would probably keel over from the stress of an hour-long horror game. Despite the intense scares (actor free) I experienced in this game, I was able to last half an hour without too much emotional damage.
Cleaux’s MansionTime Emporium - Fort CollinsEscape roomIRLFor a 30 minute experience, this game contained a lot of content! It is based off the board game Clue, and is translated well into the escape room format. It's such a great idea to have a shorter game in a venue that provides food and drink and space for gathering. It is very well suited to a fun night out with friends.
The Haunted Mine [prev. Mineshaft]HD Escape Rooms - WestminsterEscape roomIRLLight on puzzle content, and what there is, is ambiguously clued. Hints are "First come first served" since a single GM was servicing 3 separate games.
Treasure IslandBrain Games Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis game has a cute sense of humor. The second half was lovely but be warned that the first half has significant overlap with another popular game in Los Angeles. Luckily I did it long ago enough to find it fun anyway.
Casino Heist II60Out - HHLAEscape roomIRLThis is an easier version of the game from 2015. Nothing significant has been added to the experience, but some of the locks are more finicky. Not up to the usual quality from 60Out.
The Last SupperQuest TavernEscape roomIRLThis game was excellent, even though I am a giant chicken when it comes to scary rooms.
