Defenders of the Sunken RealmThe Keepers of BalanceEscape roomIRLThis was an amazing experience. The live actors were great and the puzzles were novel. This was not a puzzle heavy experience and would be great for people who don’t typically do escape rooms. The immersive setting was amazing and made this a very fun experience for us! Shout out to Parker and Ian who made this so much fun for us!
System Overlord: Dawn of the MachineThe Keepers of BalanceEscape roomIRLThis was such a cool room - afterwards they told us we were the second group to play it and honestly there were no kinks. This was super immersive, we love that it linked to the Keepers world. I loved that the puzzles were novel and unlike things we had done before. The rooms are so well done and extremely diverse. Highly recommend!!
PlaygroundThe Escape Game - NYC MidtownEscape roomIRLSuper fun game - so many puzzles this is one of the few times 2 people may not have quite been enough, but we had a lot of fun!
Only Murders in the Building The Escape Game - NYC MidtownEscape roomIRLFun room if you’re a fan of the show - some novel elements, but a little easy ultimately.
Stranger Things: Face the DarkNetflix House - DallasEscape roomOther This was an immersive experience, leaning towards a low scare haunted house. There were a few live actors who were okay…most of the experience is you being ushered from room to room to go through a stranger things-related story (aligned with season 4). I’m usually very jumpy and easily scared but did not find this scary. You are in a group of 40 people who are split into 4 groups of 10 but for most of the experience you are waiting for 40 people to go in and out of rooms. Production design was great, sound was great, visual effects were fun. Overall it was fun for a stranger things fan but may not be worth it for people who are not.
