Vampire CryptNext-Gen EscapeEscape roomIRLVampire Crypt is part 2 of the Kingskeep storyline at NextGen. All of their rooms are part of aforementioned story line but you can play them independently of each other. The husband and wife duo who own NextGen are super sweet and awesome and love to talk about the rooms. Their puzzles are always interesting and unique, the rooms atmosphere is always topical, and I love all the lore they include. They definitely are intentional with everything that’s put into their rooms. Best escape room place in Fresno area!!
Dracula's DemiseCleVR EscapeEscape roomIRLThe game was great!! It is definitely on the more difficult side so keep that in mind if bringing little kids. In addition, there is a spot where you have to crawl into another room so remember that if you’re bringing someone older. Our GM Bailey was super funny and high energy. The ambiance in the room was great and the puzzles were very interesting. Standard locks (numbers/letters). I have never played a room quite like this, so fun.

The Pumpkin King's Christmas CabinThe Locked InnEscape roomIRLThis room was amazing. Locked Inn has outdone themselves again. There were four separate rooms that flowed nicely into one another. The puzzles were different and so creative (not just the standard lock and key) and player options aside from the hats 👀. A must for NBC fans.
Hijinx at Joffre ManorNerdy by Nature Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLWorth the $50!! Holy cow!! What an amazing escape room, it used every square inch of its space. There were of course regular number & code locks but the rest of the puzzles were so unique and fun! A lot I had never seen before. I highly recommend this room. Our GM was Kaylee aka Dipper's mom. They were super nice and their new puppy was an added bonus to the amazingness of the room. Love love love Hijinx!!
Elevate: SkyloungeWild Goose Escapes - IrvineEscape roomIRLElevate: Skylounge was very cool. Things we initially didn’t think served a purpose, wound up being parts of puzzles. Even though there were the traditional code locks and key locks there were so many untraditional puzzles that were so very cool. I was very impressed with all the tech and magnet released components.

The room was very cool, in addition to the standard key and combo locks there also were unique puzzles. Strings, magnets, and gloves (oh my!) Overall super fun experience, would recommend! Edit: I just realized I am holding the wrong side of this sign in the photo 💀. We did escape lol.
TempleXcape Room FresnoEscape roomIRLGame flowed well even though it was in one room. Lots of code locks and key locks. Some math problems too which thank gawd we had someone good with math. This escape room company isn’t my favorite simply because they charge you for clues after the initial three, which I think takes the fun out of things.
Caves of CaneenNext-Gen EscapeEscape roomIRLI had been to NextGen when they were at their old location and was excited to try new rooms. Caves of Caneen was fun and had an interesting storyline. All of the puzzles involved reading/reasoning and there was one math related one. Everything was key=lock or number/letter locks (except for the very last puzzle). Our GM was Damien and they were super nice. I’m looking forward to playing their other room sometime soon!
Ruins: Forbidden TreasureThe Escape Game - Berry HillEscape roomIRLWow. This room was massive, 5 rooms within the experience. Note that there is one claustrophobic element, but the puzzles were great. Only a couple of locks (key and combo) in the entire room, most of the puzzles are tactical within the room. Our GM was Matthew, he was super chill and a fellow escape room enthusiast. Great room!
The DepthsThe Escape Game - Berry HillEscape roomIRLTalk about skin of our teeth! 1:22 left on the clock! The Depths was awesome! You need lots of communication and there are lots of "in depth" (ba dum tuss) puzzles. There are 3 separate rooms within this escape room. There are great visuals and awesome puzzles. Only number locks and key locks. Ryan was the best game master of all time, such great energy and just a chill dude. Will come back again!
Cosmic CrisisThe Escape Game - Opry MillsEscape roomIRLAll hail Hermes! He’s adorable. The gameplay flows very well and all the puzzles were very intuitive. The room has lots of technology and a lot of hands on puzzles. Our GM Ashton was awesome.
Special Ops: Mysterious MarketThe Escape Game - Opry MillsEscape roomIRLThe room’s ambiance was great and its puzzles were very fun. Nothing too crazy, just key locks and number locks in addition to some inferring. The room flowed super well and our GM Ashton was cool!
Arabian Nights - CLOSEDUnlock Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLLots of locks, whether it’s combos or keys. If that’s not your jam definitely skip this room. We barely got out because one of the puzzles messed us up for a while (we overthought it), but regardless it was a fun room.
Clancey's Lodge - CLOSEDNext-Gen EscapeEscape roomIRLThis game was so fun. I see other reviews complaining about the fact that they brought their children when that’s their fault as it says “not suitable for children.” It’s satanic themed but it’s really minor, no gore or anything except for fake blood which is very clearly paint. The gameplay flowed well and the puzzles were interesting! GM was super sweet!
Alice & The White RabbitUnlock Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis was a very cool room! Everything was Alice in Wonderland themed, from the little door to the stencils on the wall. Exclusively locks and keys, not a whole lot of tech aside from a puzzle involving the lights. Owner was shocked my partner and I got out as they recommend groups of 4 - 6. In her words “we hustled and worked well together.”
Apocalypse RoomXcape Room FresnoEscape roomIRLWe didn’t escape this time and that’s okay, but it was the rooms fault I feel like. The final piece we needed to get the door open got stuck in this magnetic maze that’s in the ceiling of a crawl space. In addition, it was very very dark in that room. You couldn’t see a thing, there was no way to turn on the lights so it was hard to read things and no flashlight is provided within the room. Oh well! Still had fun.
Captive - CLOSEDTwisted ExitEscape roomIRLGameplay was fun and very well themed, granted there was not a lot of direction in the room so most of the puzzles I was confused on. The music in the room was a little bit headache inducing as it was loud and constant. Our game master and the owner was super cool, she recommended other rooms in the area. Overall, nothing was broken and we escaped and had funny. Would recommend.
The Hex RoomCross Roads Escape GamesEscape roomIRLThe Hex Room is a must! The concept of having to escape a horror film is so interesting. Everyone got out and half of our group got their survivor medallions. The room has a couple of jump scares and a loud portion with the crackling of electricity.
The King’s Keep - CLOSEDNext-Gen EscapeEscape roomIRLKing’s Keep is a fun and easy room. You are a group of traveling performers wrongly accused of kidnapping the princess so now you have to break out of jail before you’re ☠️. The first room has magnetic, letter, and number locks with lots of paper riddles. The second room involves getting lots of magnet locks open. You get as many hints as you want at NextGen without any penalty.
