The Ministry Of Peculiarities
Escape room
IRL
*Extremely* unique escape room, unlike any I've done before. If you like story/atmosphere with your puzzles (and I definitely do), this is THE room for you. The actors were fantastic, don't want to spoil but the narrative is excellent. Super-tricky puzzles were not the main focus, but the puzzles that did happen were all very clever/inventive and fun to solve, with enough "stuff to do" that no one in our group of six was bored. Excellent experience

Excellent escape room. We did this + Legend of Theradonia as a day trip from Seattle. Between those two, I think The Cabin is more challenging—we did it as two experienced room-escapers and we only barely made it out in time; I think this room could pretty easily support a group of 4. Also, the atmosphere is great! I was worried it would be all atmosphere and no puzzles—but the puzzles are solid, and the atmosphere was the right level of spooky—some fun startles but not so scary it distracts from the gameplay. Worth the trip.

We had a large group and I *loved* there was something for everyone to do, everyone contributed, etc. Also really nice production values and some cool effects, very atmospheric, had a great time!

*Very* cool set design & commitment to theme. Several puzzles can be solved independently of each other, so most people in our group of six always had "something to do," which I appreciated. We solved it pretty quickly but I imagine it would take notably longer with a smaller team. Super fun, had a good time!
Special Ops: Mysterious Market
The Escape Game

I did three games with this company while I was in SF and this was my favorite of them. All three were great rooms but, in this one, the story takes a dramatic twist halfway through which is SO fun, and the second act puzzles are INCREDIBLY fun, involving some high-tech stuff that felt really snappy and well-designed. Did this with two people, and we're pretty sure we went a few minutes over time, haha—the GM very kindly snuck some extra minutes on the clock so we could finish solving the (very cool) last puzzle. Had a blast!

Really excellent escape room. Had some very cool physical/mechanical puzzles of a type I've never seen in any other escape room; those were especially fun. We were a group of 4 total (two couples; we didn't know the other couple prior to starting the room), and that felt like a good size—everyone always had something to do and we were able to escape in time.

Really cute & satisfying theme--it's weirdly endearing and charming each time you save an animal!--and the puzzles were clever and memorable.

Solid escape room with good theming. We were in a group of 5 and that felt like a good size—could've done it with as few as 3, wouldn't want many more than 5.

The puzzles were fun and we were never "stuck," stuff progressed as it should, etc. We happened to be in town & this was a solid way to pass the time if you enjoy puzzles. But it lacked the "oomf" I've seen in some other escape rooms—the set design is pretty simple, there's not much of a narrative, and the puzzles were mostly of the "find the 4 digit code to unlock the thing" variety. Worth it if you're in town but maybe not if you'd be coming from some distance away.
