Very positive experience! Even as experienced escape gamers we found it to be a lot to do. Probably too hard for its intended kid audience—I don’t think any of the families playing with us finished. For us, we were happily occupied for nearly the full 4 hours. The cast was wonderful and really made it an immersive experience. A couple of the puzzles were duds, but we managed to work around them. A wonderful way to spend most of a day!

The Descent

Very nonlinear room with multiple puzzles that can be worked on simultaneously which makes it good for a larger group. The set was pretty cool. Nonetheless, not my favourite. Too much repetition in the puzzles.

A really amazing game. Huge diversity of puzzles, with some really imaginative ones. The set is incredibly immersive. Several legitimate jump scares (which I enjoyed!). As usual with Escape Ventures games, the kindness and professionalism of the staff helped to make it a wonderful experience. In my top 5 of all time.

Another home run from the Escape Ventures folks. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Amazing, immersive set, wonderful diversity of puzzles, and lovely staff. One puzzle in particular that was unlike anything we’d ever seen.

Mixed feelings about this game. It is definitely novel and a lot of effort has been put into the story and related animations. We liked most of the puzzles, but some did feel a bit repetitive in terms of the mechanism. There was one puzzle that we would never have gotten without a clue, and one that was honestly just annoying. The pace of the game felt a bit frustrating as there was a lot of listening to narrative between puzzles. The staff were absolutely lovely, and definitely added positively to the experience. Be aware that the space gets very warm! I was glad to have brought a bottle of water to drink afterwards.

I took my lab members to do this, and we had a wonderful time. The set is truly immersive, and there is a lot of different types of puzzles. Would be challenging for a small group, but worked well with 7. The GM was very pleasant. Highly recommended.

Really amazing experience. Amy, our GM, was excellent, giving nudges at just the right moments. Although there are quite a lot of puzzles, none of them required implausible leaps of logic. A lot of traditional locks, but enough other elements to make it stand out. Definitely recommended if you’re visiting Glasgow!

An experience really like no other. The strongest narrative I’ve ever experienced in an Escape Room. Simultaneously a very unflashy set and yet an extraordinarily immersive experience. A must do in Edinburgh!

Very basic, quite easy room. Mostly just a scavenger hunt. Some puzzles are well tied into the theme, while the relevance of others was somewhat mysterious. Fun to do an Irish pub themed room in Ireland, but otherwise nothing special.

What a cool experience! We had a wonderful time, in part because the GM Eoghan was very helpful and kind. The story is a bit thin, but the puzzles all tie into the context so that was okay! A must do for enthusiasts in Dublin. Very doable for 2 if you have some escape room experience.

Very enjoyable game! Good integration of the puzzles with the narrative. Most of the puzzles follow fairly familiar patterns for escape room fans, but there was one with an inventive mechanism I’ve never encountered before. Recommended!

Did this with my lab, and it was a great game for team-building, with a lot of puzzles that required cooperation. Although there’s a lot to do, there is a fairly clear logic behind all the puzzles which meant it didn’t feel as difficult as less well designed “hard” rooms. Only gripe is that our wallow ran out of batteries, and one of the hints we were given was actually incorrect.

A very average room. There was one really frustrating puzzle that we used a hint to just avoid. Most of the rest of the room was doable, with a nice variety of of different puzzle types. The ending was unique and clever.

A pretty average room. There were a couple of clever puzzles of a type we haven’t seen before. Some of the connections felt a bit random, with one in particular that we would never have guessed. There was an over reliance on information from the computer—opening up files in Windows and reading their contents isn’t very exciting in an in person game. But we enjoyed the room nonetheless.

We really enjoyed this game. There’s a good diversity of puzzles, and some neat visual effects. It’s on the easier side, and most of the puzzles follow fairly familiar tropes. But it was a great team building exercise for my lab. Made us feel good about ourselves!

As everyone else has said, the set really is extraordinary. Definitely worth doing the game for that reason. There was a good assortment of puzzles, and one mechanism we’d never seen before which was cool. That being said, I have to admit to being disappointed. Part of the reason is that a technical problem robbed us of the biggest dramatic reveal. And part of the reason is just that my expectations were so high. I’d recommend that anyone thinking about doing this game avoid watching the promotional video, which gives away too much that is cool. Also some of the puzzles were just kind of annoying. The clue system (not iPads) was frustrating too. Ultimately I’m glad I did this game, but for all its fancy reputation there are games I’ve definitely enjoyed a lot more.

Worth the drive to Ponchatoula! Very immersive, imaginative game with some elements we hadn’t seen before. No jump scares, but the milieu was definitely creepy. GM was great and gave clues that were the right amount of helpful.
