Lost City
Escapology - Leawood
Escape room
IRL
At the beginning of the experience we were asked if we’d like nudges throughout or if we wanted clues only if we asked and we said we only wanted clues if we asked. We then started receiving nudges/clues (unsolicited) about 5 minutes into the experience and they didn’t stop the entire time. We didn’t have a chance to solve much of anything because 30 seconds after finding something new, another nudge was presented on the screen. We escaped with 14 minutes left so it’s not like it was close and the game master was ensuring we got the full experience, we had tons of time left! Why ask at the beginning if you’re not going to follow the guest’s wishes? This resulted in us being very disappointed with the game experience. Beyond that, all of the staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Mastermind Room Escape - St. Charles
Escape room
IRL
I thought this room started out a little slow and uninteresting and had one puzzle in particular that I wasn’t fond of but after the first third of the experience the theme really kicked in and the puzzles got a lot more fun and interesting. We definitely left with a positive opinion on the experience and it had a couple unique pieces. We enjoyed it.

The Escape Game - Kansas City

I’m consistently impressed with The Escape Game’s rooms. Great room designs, the puzzles are thematic, and they are just fun. Family friendly, good time.

Broadway/theater themed so perfect room to do if you’re looking for a good local NYC experience.
The Aviary
THE BASEMENT: A Live Escape Room Experience - Kansas City

Another great experience at The Basement. I’d caution against larger groups for this one, maybe keep it at 8 or fewer. Puzzles can really only be worked on one at a time and those who aren’t working on the active puzzle don’t really have anything to do but stand around in the dark.

Tick Tock Escape

Tick Tock knocks it out of the park again with this one. Unique, huge, fun props, cool room design. We had a lot of fun with this one. Can definitely handle a larger group, there’s a lot going on at the same time.

A 90 minute room and 2500 sq ft of puzzles. This was a lot of fun and a pretty good story that unfolded throughout the solve. It was also non linear to an extent which I thought was cool.
The Bank

Good intro room. Nothing too groundbreaking and nothing too difficult.

Loved the set design and the atmosphere. We all had a lot of fun with this one. Puzzles were on the easier side but some unique ideas and they kept everyone engaged. Rooms with actors generally always elevate the fun and immersion and this one was no exception.
The Asylum: Playtime
Lost Games

This is one of the more immersive games I’ve played. Great intro to the room, fun actors, very well designed room, cool story, it was all really really great. If you don’t want to be lead through the room/puzzles by the game master, make sure you explicitly request it.
