Storyteller's Secret
Boxaroo
Escape room
IRL
This is one of the most beautiful escape rooms we’ve done. The production level is crazy (music, story, animations, puzzles). The room feels like a point and click adventure game. The puzzles are definitely challenging, but I think it’s a good room for families (which is hard to find at times). The hints do not break the immersion at all and are very well integrated into the room/story.

Exit Escape Room NYC
Escape room

I think if you’re looking for an escape room to bring a child on, I think this one would be a great one to pick. I don’t think they’d solve puzzles on their own (the puzzles I think are challenging even for adults), but the interactions and imagination of the puzzles and room I think are ones that kids will enjoy being guided through. The staff was really fun in getting us started in the room and taking the story. We got cupcakes at the end.

Conundroom - Willows BP
Escape room
IRL
Our group was very excited for a Harry Potter themed escape room. The room is small. My niece (7) was bored most of the time, the puzzles were not really “fun” in a sense for kids in my opinion. They were hard enough for adults to spot, and for kids, I don’t think they’d really notice them or have fun solving them.
Atlantis Rising
PanIQ Room - Boston
Escape room
IRL
This was our first time going to PanIQ (it appeared to have good Google reviews). The room feels very amusement parkish, which at first was exciting since initially it felt immersive with visuals. They lean heavily into technology for the puzzles, many with built in timers that made it very frustrating since the room has very poor lighting and if you don’t solve it within the timer it resets. The hints were way too much information, which can ruin the puzzles. Things don’t stand out enough in the room for triggered events, so at times you don’t even realize you solved a puzzle. Some puzzles are slow to trigger, so if you’re trying to move quick, you might unsolved what was actually solved.
