Stash HouseStash HouseEscape roomIRLHoly shit, this was difficult. I called ahead to check if it was okay for me and my two family members to go, and whether three players would be enough. They assured me it would, with some help or modifications to the puzzles. I think this room definitely requires at least 4 or 5 people. Regardless of the INSANE difficulty, I loved the theming and the novel puzzles.
Bonus Fun Time Game Show ChallengeEscape FactorEscape roomIRLNothing really crazy technologically, but still makes for a good time. I like the amount of puzzles and difficulty level. There were a lot of easy to medium-difficulty puzzles, which allowed for a lot of energy and general good vibes and joking around. Nothing is worse than a puzzle so complicated it sucks the life out of your friends. I loved our GM (host). Her humor was super dry, and although we didn't ask for any hints, she gave a couple of really good and subtle nudges. Was NOT a fan of one puzzle in particular fairly early on which causes me to miss out on a good handful of other puzzles my group were working on.
Mountain Top MurdersThe Great Escape Room - ChicagoEscape roomIRLI’m gonna be honest, I was not expecting much. I was decently surprised by how much fun I had! Not as Hightech or theatrical in production value as I’m used to. It’s a franchise, so those rooms are typically cheaper so they are able to rotated out or replicated in other locations. Regardless, I thought the puzzles were fairly fun even if there were a few too many locks for my liking. Decently linear with a few meta puzzles. Overall, nothing MINDBLOWING but an overall good time!
