Mr Copplestone's Curiosity ShoppeEscape Quest United KingdomEscape roomIRLGameplay was solid. Not particularly difficult but the number of puzzles was seemingly endless. We hit their “escape threshold” before the halfway mark but continued to solve prestige-building bonus puzzles for the full hour. As a completionist, I have mixed feelings about this rest and go approach which I detail in the puzzle section of my review. Game was almost entirely lock-based and could be elevated with the addition of technical elements. Theming and story arc are immersive and extend across all of their games - creating a visually stunning and unique game experience. DMs were lovely. Great day, great room. We loved it.
Quest For The Temple of LightThe Keepers of BalanceEscape roomIRLWe traveled to Charlotte to do this room for our anniversary and couldn’t have chosen a better way to celebrate. World class room with a killer staff. A new favorite. Thank you for the experience.
Hidden Needle Tattoo ParlorThe Exit Games - Princess St.Escape roomIRLGorgeous, fun, and perfectly maintained. Great flow. A reasonable challenge, incredibly unique and well-themed. This is a must do room. Should definitely consider selling shirts and mugs to successful apprentices!
City with No SunNerd EscapesEscape roomIRLCompletely unique spin. Puzzles were challenging and creative. It’s not the right room if you’re a beginner but what a great change of style for experienced players. Don’t overlook this room - it’s a great time.
Front Street Casino HeistThe Exit Games - Front St.Escape roomIRLSentiment seems to be inline with others that have played exit’s rooms. FSCH was a decent room, reasonably themed, a bit older in play style (hello locks) but definitely a fun play. It didn’t stand up to white rabbit or tattoo but if you had never met these gorgeous siblings it wouldn’t disappoint.
Smoke & Mirrors: Houdini's Final EscapeThink Escape Games - Orlando [prev. Escape Hatch Orlando]Escape roomIRLThis is a fun game, not terribly difficult but the flow was extremely well thought out, the theming and upkeep wonderful. What made it a favorite was the host, Zach. His energy and vibe were perfect and that made for a really enjoyable experience. Definitely recommend.
Scooby-Doo™ and the Spooky Castle AdventureEscapology - CharlotteEscape roomIRLIf you didn’t have any better rooms available and had to do a corporate room this one is ok. It’s got cute theming with a popular IP and kids will like it but the puzzles were awful - most WAY too easy and then a few frustrating confusing elements thrown in to just slow you down. It wasn’t an entirely bad room but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you had nothing else to do. Then sure, go talk to each other in a scooby voice for an hour.
Odin's TrialGame On Escapes & More - CaryEscape roomIRLRoom is the newest and probably the best that game on has to offer in terms of immersion and tech but it just didn’t feel quite complete. They have some pretty big red herrings to slow you down and that just feels like foul play on their part. Game shouldn’t be more than 45 minutes as it is now and with 2 people max. It has potential but the room needs more work.
SherlockRoom 5280 - RaleighEscape roomIRLNothing notable or memorable about this room. Left us empty on the inside.
