Ferrailles hurlantes [Screaming Metal]

A really solid room where I mainly only have good things to say! Fun puzzles and navigation through the rooms. Immersive in-game help systems. Props and environment match the theme. The major drawback is the first 2 rooms are very linear where only 1-2 people can actively work on something. So if you are stuck on a puzzle there’s not much for everyone to work on. Thankfully the help system was there and immersive. The last room is really where the the room shines where you can spread out and work on lots of stuff. We had a great time!

This Mad Max-inspired room was a surprising delight as we knew it was a slightly older room and were not expecting a whole lot. We ended up loving it, from the wonderful start and awesome first puzzle all the way to the satisfying conclusion. Nothing too fancy, but we really enjoyed the immersive set, props, and mix of thematic puzzles and clever use of the GM/live actor. While we escaped with 20 minutes to spare, we did feel like we got stuck a couple of times, especially at the beginning.

Super nice and attentive staff and some of my favourite actor interactions to date! Great set and variety of puzzles. One puzzle was a bit finnicky but we were helped promptly. Not sure if I’m just a dodo brain but I feel like the beginning puzzle might benefit from having an english speaker look over the english hints as I’m not sure they all quite translated. Still, our GM was super great at jumping in and helping us out at stuck points. For beginners I would have at least three players. A fun time!

The first room isn't that great, but the rest is awesome!

Good set, reasonable puzzles. The last space has some fun elements - I liked a set piece and a GM interaction. Nothing revolutionary, but nicely executed. I do think they could have done more with the ending, but it's fine as is. Of the 4 games we played at Cabinet Mysteriis (Magnum Opus, Screaming Metal, 2002, and Dreamwalkers), this one felt the most polished and the one I'd most easily recommend to someone without a lot of experience.

The story is good and the actors are good, but some of the rooms are small. On the other hand, the puzzles are presented one at a time—you can’t spread yourself too thin trying to save time; you really have to tackle them one at a time. So we didn’t enjoy it quite as much, and the difficulty level is lower than what’s advertised.

Decieving , probably a 2 on 5 difficulty, easy to find out , and honestly overall probably good for 1-2 people we were 4 and was preety crowded in the seconde room , and you can only do one step at a time so being 4 once we found the next step only or two people were needed to complete or could fit , but the décore was vary nice lots of effort put into it for sure but won’t be going in our top list .

Apocalyptic games are some of my favorites, just by virtue of the aesthetic and often unique tactile actions. Screaming Metal has all the hallmarks, with the addition of some absolutely excellent character work (made even better by excellent costuming and acting). The puzzles are a little bit more standard in comparison to Magnum Opus or Dream Walkers, and included a few I stumbled on a bit, but in some ways the classic elements make it feel much grittier and “cobbled together” in a apocalyptic scavenger sense. The opening interaction followed a funny and unnerving interaction with a unique interpretation of a classic puzzle, which set the stage for the style of gameplay present. Also, as a fan of Mad Max, this is definitely a very fitting tribute, from the aesthetic to the puzzle props to the aforementioned costuming. While Dream Walkers is undoubtedly Mysteriis crown jewel, this game had the best characters and some of the most impressive moments I experienced that evening.
