La Santa [The Saint]

This was my first ever true horror room and wow did it deliver. I consistently found myself highly immersed in the atmosphere and story. My main concern with doing horror escape rooms in the past has been that they would focus more on the atmosphere than the actual gameplay and puzzles. While there are certainly rooms with puzzles that I liked more than this, I do not feel that the horror aspect took away anything from the game. It was a fantastic experience that I highly recommend to anyone with an interest in horror or escape rooms.

Fantastic set and atmosphere, though slightly darker than I would have preferred. Good use of lighting to guide movement and great cinematic scenes. Puzzles made sense and fit into the story well. Overall, I thought this game delivered well on both set and gameplay. While I'm not generally a horror fan, this is one of the few games that I actually thought wasn't scary *enough* - I came away thinking there were some missed opportunities for jump scares that would have enhanced the experience. One puzzle interaction was a little finicky - we did the right thing but nothing happened, and eventually the GM had to prompt us to try again.

La Santa was a great experience! Even though you can feel that the room is not brand new, it still managed to impress us and create a truly memorable atmosphere. The immersion is definitely the strongest part of this experience. From the moment we entered, it genuinely felt like stepping into an actual abbey. The set is huge, detailed, and there were several moments that really stayed with us and pushed this room much higher on my personal list. The puzzles were not my personal favorite, but they still fit the experience well enough and never took away from the overall enjoyment. The game master(s?) and actresses were excellent and deserves only praise. A very atmospheric room with a fantastic sense of place and some unforgettable moments. Highly recommended!

This room is in my Top 3 of all time favorites. I don’t usually love horror rooms, but this was fantastic. Definitely don’t miss this!

La Santa is firing on almost every cylinder. The set design is exceptional. It is ambitious in scale, thoughtful in use of space, and detailed in all the ways that make a constructed environment feel real rather than built. The actors are more than competent; they're genuinely skilled andinhabit the world of the room rather than just managing it. It really feels seamless. The experience builds well across its runtime, with several sequences that feel unique, even if a bit predictable. But it has a finale that delivers the kind of payoff that makes you glad you did the whole thing. There are minor rough edges here and there, but nothing that does lasting damage to the experience. This is a room that earns its reputation. Recommended.

La Santa was as beautiful as it was scary. Arching high above our heads, the set and scale was quite well done. Lots of traversal, back and forth through the monastery. Puzzles were on the simpler side, more fetch tasks. Lots of splitting and solo moments. Tests of courage. Keep on your toes, you don’t know what’s lurking around every corner..

You could film the movie in this set and the effects are high production level, wow, incredible! a must, i took the bullet train from Barcelona just to do this and Magic Universe, well worth it!

This room felt uncomfortably real. For a moment I forgot we were on a set in a warehouse; if you told me the company built their business around an existing monastery I would believe it. I usually don’t scare too easily but I really did not want that nun anywhere near me. This was probably the creepiest escape room I’ve ever done.

This game is more of a horror experience rather than an escape room. It has the best setting I have ever seen but to my taste it fell short on the puzzle side. It’s definitely one of the greatest experiences from Madrid but do not expect great puzzles like I did 🥲
