1st time visiting CU Adventures after reading a lot of great things about this company going in and CUA lived up to the hype. On our visit, it was only 2 of us, so we were limited to playing Wizards Curse, Revenge of the Cabin, and Scrooge’s Christmas Trap. Each game is doable with 2 people, but having a few more people for all of them may helpful. Wizards Curse was extremely fun. The set design was Hollywood quality and you really felt like you were in a wizardly world. No TV screens in the room so although you could not definitively know how much time you had left, there was an electronic hourglass fixture which did track the time. CUA does not have a standard timer clock because they do not want to ruin the immersion quality of their rooms, and it seems their goal is for customers to have a great “successful” experience, so if their customers need a few extra minutes to experience the entire room, they will allow for that (and the customer may not even realize they were given some extra time). The room had numerous areas to explore and there was a lot packed into each new space you discovered, including movable walls. There were a variety of different puzzles and good use of different technology throughout the experience. Very few locks/keys, with some physical puzzles, physical interactions, teamwork related puzzles, and a final battle that was memorable. I love rooms that transform into areas and experiences that you did not anticipate, and this room surprised us with how it unfolded. Customer Service at CUA is phenomenal. After talking with the owners about many different topics, it was apparent that they truly want your experience to be fun and memorable, and train their GM’s to take this same approach. Our GM (Cedric) was fun to talk with before/after, and was fully in character from the moment he started the background story and he gave us perfectly timed nudges during the game. CUA takes a more immersive approach with their hint system, and for Wizards Curse, I loved it! During our visit, the owners even gave us a quick tour of their new venture, Parcadia, which is a magical mini golf tavern, and although it is not finished yet, looked incredible. We played CUA’s 3 smallest and “lower ranked” games, and all 3 were phenomenal. CU Adventures is a fantastic ER company, with their focus on customer service, immersive sets, and great variety of puzzles, which makes me think this company could be better than 60 to Escape (IL and WI) and The Exit Games Florida, whom are the best ER companies I have played previously. Can’t wait to go back with more people so we can play their other 4 rooms. CU Adventures is definitely worth the drive.

Fun 2 player room (I wouldn’t take any more, mayyybe 3?), with a few frustrating puzzles but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. There was one mag lock box that was a little finicky and hard to open. There were puzzles and concepts I hadn’t seen before. There were very few traditional locks. Set design was great, and felt immersive. Game master was good. My personal #6 game out of 7 at CU Adventures.

Fun wizard room! We had an over zealously hint giving GM that detracted from our experience. We ended 18 mins early. Without that I think we would have really liked it.

While the set is a great use of space, it also felt a little cramped. As with all games at CU Adventures, theming and set are great and puzzles make sense. One area is a little dim, though it's not a big deal. There was one spot we had an issue with searching, but that was on us.

An older room from the masterminds at CU Adventures. Smaller space but good use. Creative and fun puzzles. Felt slightly worn out, but still a solid room. I do love a good boss battle with teamwork!

Many interesting nooks and crannies in this classic take on a “save the kingdom from the evil wizard” theme. The room has a lovely atmosphere, and the small amount of video in the room has a professional look. It has more of the classic escape room tropes (I think this is their oldest room?) with black lights, bouncing lights, etc., but it still works because of a wonderful set and a devotion to a compelling narrative that places you at the center of the story.
