The Dollhouse

Very basic and not very entertaining but it pasted 38 mins. Would recommend to beginners over die hard players.

No Chucky? No worries. Our first foray into the spookier offerings at Padlockd and it was a mixed bag. The puzzles themselves felt fairly intuitive and the little scares here and there were fun. The set design wasn’t bad and we all fit in the small-ish space. Yippee. Our biggest obstacle in this room was getting tech to work (we soon discovered this is an ongoing theme of the rooms at Padlockd). A few puzzles required finicky manoeuvring of props to be in perfect spots for tech to fire. One of them we gave in and radioed for help only to be told our answer was correct and to just keep trying to move the pieces around. Not ideal. An okay room made frustrating by tech failures.

IM NOT PLAYING YOUR LITTLE GAME, PUPPETMASTER. One of Padlock’d’s spookier experiences that doesn’t come with a “live actor”, I found the whole thing to have a lot of potential but ultimately felt a bit empty. Tasked with saving the 7 souls of some cursed children/dolls/demons in order to escape, each child’s name would light up once that particular puzzle was completed. It was a really interesting format that worked as a visual representation of our progress however the only issue I found is that it wasn’t super apparent which puzzle belonged to which child as the board would often just light up without sound or indication. Still a cool idea though. The puzzles and set were satisfying, with enough blood, rope pulling, satanism and symbol decoding to give players their horror fix. Much like many Padlock’d rooms we ran into some tech issues which after reading the reviews of other players, seems to be a constant thorn in their side. I know they have 4 million of them but it’s a shame a company as profitable as Padlock’d don’t put the time and care into maintaining their rooms. Look out for severed heads. 6.3/10 🔏🧩

I did every room Padlock'd offers, and while some of their rooms like Abandoned Carnival, Freakshow, Nightmare, and The Museum Heist, but this room was just not good. The puzzles did not make sense, it was very, very dark and difficult to see a lot of the room, even with flashlights. Some of the scares did not match the theme of the room; and for someone who doesn't want you to help the souls they've kidnapped escape, this room's storyline operator sure does a lot to help you keep score of how many you have released. If you want to do a great room from Padlock'd, do Abandoned Carnival. If you want something scary from Padlock'd, do Nightmare or Freak Show. Skip this one.

Spooky but not scary. Easy puzzles. Some of the puzzle mechanisms didn’t work well. Okay room overall.

I found most of the puzzles very satisfying to complete. I was definitely affected sometimes by the creepy theme and needed some hints to puzzles which I feel I could have otherwise solved, but this is a good thing in hindsight. I would guess that players more resistant to scary and creepy themes would get through this room fairly easily.

My least favourite game at Padlocked. It was a cool theme/concept but the execution of a couple of puzzles was frustrating. That and when we asked for a clue it was not helpful and they just kept repeating it over and over.

Pretty spooky room with some jump scares that knocked me out of my socks. Haha. Great theming, great set design, some nice puzzles. One of the better and more flowing Padlockd rooms.
