It was just another ordinary day until you received that invitation to an attorney’s office in the Northwoods for the viewing of your great aunt’s video will. And things really take a turn for the strange when you learn you just inherited a small cabin that has been vacant for over 70 years. Your great aunt never visited the cabin that she received from her late father who acquired it during a bank foreclosure. Although she did admit she was tempted to explore the rumor that Al Capone and his gang hid out there during the prohibition era and hid a stash of gold bars. But she just couldn’t believe the stories that Capone and his cronies hid the gold behind a series of puzzles that if not solved in 60 minutes would be lost forever. But you’ve never been one to let a good challenge pass you by. Could these stories be true? You quickly discover that there may be some truth to these rumors when you find the front door to the cabin locked. You’ll have to solve the first puzzle to even enter. And the countdown begins…

Very fun and immersive! No traditional locks used and all the mechanisms were well integrated as to not stand out but noticeable enough to not be frustrating. We had a mixed group of 6 in terms of experience and we all felt satisfied with the variety and quantity of puzzles. We had plenty of time left so maybe a group of 4 would be a better size, but overall no one left disappointed. Alexa was a very nice and personable gm and did a good job briefing us and nudging when we were spinning our wheels a bit.

We really enjoyed this room. I think it’s their first room and it was simpler than their other game but it was still quite fun. Nicely built set, appropriate to the story. Sound effects increased immersion (as in the other room). Interesting devices/props with some of the creative two-layered puzzling we enjoyed in their other room. Nothing too difficult but creative and fun, and very well maintained. And if you win, they make a donation of $25 to a charity you choose from a menu of four or five different causes. Very nice!
